Game Notes

Tulsa-Union upends rival Jenks 27-17 to capture its 2nd state title in 3 years.

The Trojans had won 7 of the previous 8 championships, but had no answer for the Redskins' unexpected hero, fullback/tight end Brad Glenn. In a game filled with Division I talent, its Glenn, destined for Arizona on a baseball scholarship, that steals the thunder. Glenn catches 4 passes for 144 yards and 2 TDs, and adds a brutal 9-yard TD run to clinch the outcome.

Jenks appears to be in control after going up 10-0 in the 1st half. Steven Woodward (North Texas) hits a 39-yard FG, and Freddie Carolina adds an 11-yard TD run.

But Union battles back in the 2nd quarter as MacKenzi Adams (Vanderbilt) hits Glenn with a 37-yard TD pass. Tony Moore Jr. puts the Redskins ahead 13-10 with a 2-yard TD, and Adams and Glenn connect on a 57-yard TD pass to build a 10-point lead by halftime.

Adams throws for 220 yards, and Moore carries 34 times for 92 yards.

QB/S Andrew Brewer (Northwestern) pulls Jenks back into the contest with an 11-yard TD pass to LB/TE Phillip Dillard (Nebraska) w/ 8:35 left in the 3rd quarter. Brewer throws for 188 yards but suffers several costly turnovers.

Glenn's 9-yard TD run over several Jenks defenders w/ 8:08 left in the game is the final blow.

Union includes junior DT Chase Nelson (Tennessee), junior CB Dominique Franks (Oklahoma) and sophomore OT Matt Romine (Notre Dame).

Jenks includes WR/CB Jesse Meyer (Tulsa), junior G/DT Chase Beeler (Oklahoma), junior LB Jeffrey Jackson (Princeton), junior DE Tanner Shuck (Rice).
