Game Notes

Highland Park Scots rip Marshall 59-0 in the definition of total domination, capturing their first state title in 48 years.

The Mavericks are held to 20 yards total offense, and Highland Park rolls up a 42-0 halftime lead without star QB Matthew Stafford (Georgia) throwing a TD pass. Stafford finishes 10-of-18 for 195 yards.

The Scots get a starring performance from Jake Feldt, who runs for 132 yards and 5 TDs. Feldt sets the tone, breaking loose for a 61-yard TD run on Highland Park's first play from scrimmage. Running behind a line featuring tackles Chris Olson (Texas Tech) and Reid Prince (Baylor), Feldt and company roll. Feldt also adds a 33-yard TD catch from John Dickerson.

Highland Park WR Morgan Hudnall (SMU) catches 3 passes for 80 yards, including a 51-yarder setting up Feldt's 4th TD run and 42-0 lead late in the 1st half.

Marshall's lone highlight comes in the 1st quarter when CB Justin Jones (Utah) intercepts Stafford in the end zone, delaying the Scots' onslaught.

Mavericks' QB Cory Carswell struggles against the Highland Park defense, going just 1-of-17, and star RB Jackie Robinson, who enters with over 1,900 yards on the season, is held to just 19 yards. Marshall also includes WR Junior Osborne (Texas Southern).
