Katy Tigers stun Southlake-Carroll in the closing minutes for a 16-15 upset.

Ben Johnson's 51-yard bomb to Lyle Mouton with 2:30 remaining gives the Tigers a 16-15 lead. Katy had frustrated the high-powered Dragons for much of the game, but sophomore Aaron Luna's 2-yard TD and a 2-point conversion from junior Chase Daniel (Missouri) to Kenton Gedwed put SLC up 15-9.

The Dragons appeared on their way to a typical blowout when Daniel hooks up with Gedwed on a 66-yard TD just 4 plays into the game. However, the Carroll offense sputters, and misses a chance to put the game away late when Garrett Hartley (Oklahoma) hooks a 40-yard FG attempt wide left leaving the Tigers within a score.

Katy answered SLC's early score when Johnson hits Chris Pedler with a 13-yard TD pass. The Tigers take the lead when junior DE Paul Thornton (Duke) blocks a punt through the end zone in the 3rd quarter.

Tigers junior James Aston carries 34 times for 187 yards.

Southlake-Carroll includes OT Adam Ulatoski (Texas), LB Ben Hixson (Baylor), junior G Mitch Enright (SMU), sophomore WR McKay Jacobson (BYU).

Katy includes OT Joseph Longacre (Arizona) and DT Tate Stewart (Houston).
