Game Notes

Bellevue Wolverines rally, then beat Kennedy in OT 21-14.

The Wolverines erase a 14-0 deficit en route to their 5th state championship in 6 years. QB/S Eric Block (Washington State) scores on a 23-yard run in OT, and then the defense forces a turnover to clinch the title.

Block rushes for 132 yards to capture his 2nd title as a starting QB. Junior Ladell Carroll runs for 103 yards and 2 TDs, including a 1-yarder to tie the game w/ 3:22 left in regulation.

The Lancers had been in control for much of the game RB/DB Nate Williams (Washington) scores on a 1-yard run in the 1st quarter. Sophomore WR/DB Nolan Washington (Washington State) extends the lead with a 14-yard TD catch from Bobby Gentry following an unsuccessful onside kick to start the 2nd half. Williams, the Kennedy star, stuggles against the Bellevue defense, managing just 21 yards on 11 carries.

Bellevue includes DE/OT Travis Anderson (Idaho State), junior C David DeCastro (Stanford), sophomore S Jamal Atofau (Washington State).

Kennedy includes C Kevin Freitag (Washington State), junior DE/TE Everrette Thompson (Washington), and sophomore DB Tre Watson.
