Game Notes

Racine-Park Panthers wallop Wisconsin Rapids-Lincoln 28-9 behind superstar junior John Clay (Wisconsin).

Clay, one of the top junior RBs in the Midwest, breaks the Wisconsin Div. 1 championship record with 259 yards, while running for 3 TDs, behind a line that features OT Matt Simmons, a top junior Oline prospect.

The Panthers, who won their 2nd state title, strike first with a 3-yard TD run by Clay. Diondre Jenkins (Wisconsin) sets up the score with a 41-yard catch and run. However, Park turns it over twice in its first 3 possessions helping the Red Raiders grab a 9-7 lead in the first half.

Wisconsin Rapids-Lincoln's Brent Goska hits Nate Ross for a 24-yard TD, and Ethan Ambroziak's 24-yard FG early in the 2nd quarter gives the Red Raiders the lead. Wisconsin Rapids' Mike Casey runs for 150 yards.

However, Clay breaks the game open in the 2nd half. The Panthers take the lead when Clay breaks several tackles en route to a 70-yard TD run w/ 6:12 left in the 3rd quarter. Then Clay extends the lead to 21-9 by outrunning the Red Raiders for a 65-yard TD.
