Game Notes

Ashwaubenon Jaguars finally put away the Waunakee Warriors 19-0 for their 4th state title.

The Jaguars dominate field position, but lead 7-0 on Rob Niedermeyer's 2-yard TD run in the 2nd quarter. Rob Taylor throws 1 INT and Ashwaubenon misses 3 FGs, and has a 4th blocked keeping the game close.

The Jaguars finally stretch the lead when Taylor hits Dan Behnke for a 57-yard TD pass w/ :28 left in the third quarter. Then following a fumble, Taylor and Behnke connect on a 35-yard TD pass just 33 seconds later for a 19-0 lead. Behnke finishes with 3 catches for 105 yards, while Taylor runs for 98 yards and passes for 167 yards and 2 TDs.

Ashwaubenon's defense slows Waunakee star T.C. Farber, who rushed for 1,936 yards in 11 games, limiting him to 59 yards. Waunakee also features massive OT Nick Clemens (Western Michigan).

Ashwaubenon includes soph LB Mike Taylor (Wisconsin).
