Rex Grossman makes his 1st start a victorious one, while Minnesota makes a lot of yardage useless. The Vikings can't convert 393 yards offense into points, nor 37+ minutes of ball control into a victory.

Grossman has struggles, going 13-of-30 for 157 yards, but has 3 key completions on the Bears' lone TD drive, for a 10-0 lead in the 2nd quarter.

Minnesota fails to get points and hurt itself, ending one drive on a 4th down sack. Another ends in Charles Tillman's INT of Daunte Culpepper in the end zone to preserve the lead in the 4th quarter. A bumbled punt attempt sets up a FG by Paul Edinger for a 13-3 lead in the 3rd quarter.
