Vikings hold off the Lions for 14-7 win.

Minnesota jumps out to a 14-0 lead in the 1st quarter, then withstands Detroit's rally attempts in the 4th quarter. The Vikings strike first on a 12-yard TD pass from Fran Tarkenton to Sammy White on the opening drive. Then Minnesota follows it up with an odd TD pass.

Tarkenton hits Ahmad Rashad on an out, but rather than be pulled out of bounds after a 9-yard gain, Rashad hands off to White who sprints 50 yards for the end zone.

Greg Landry tries to throw the Lions back into the game in the 2nd half. Landry hits Luther Blue with an 8-yard TD capping an 8:45 drive to start the 2nd half. Landry finishes 25-of-46 for 249 yards, but Bobby Bryant intercepts his last hurrah with :05 left.
