ZUIPEN IN UTRECHT   No. 1 MONDAY SEPTEMBER 4TH, 2000 Page T

eetcafe Tienhof
Zadelstraat 10
The former manager of Maartenshof now runs this cafe/bistro with excellent and affordable food. On Wednesday they serve a heavenly Nasi Rames which we recommend to anyone who want a taste of true Indonesian cooking. Closed on Sundays. 9 FEB 00

't Tijgertje
Predikherenstraat 13

Tomorrows
Willemstraat 37

Fully known as Gay Cafe Tomorrows, this (much like its predecessor Willem II) is a place only the brave at heart dare to enter. Unless you're a regular, don't expect a hearty welcome; it is visited only by locals who apparently enjoy nothing but popularized Latin music (think La Bamba and the like). Red lights do little to enhance the atmosphere. (Don't get us wrong here: the fact that we dislike this bar has nothing to do with the apparent sexual preference of its clientele, it's the atmosphere that we simply don't like.) 14 FEB 00
Our rating: 1/2 out of 5

picture eetcafe Toque Toque
Oudegracht 138

A pretty, but small cafe, located on one of the busiest corners of downtown Utrecht. Downstairs you'll find plenty of more space, though. Also serves (rather good) food and therefore a popular place to have lunch. 9 FEB 00
