MINI TRACKED VEHICLE
The Mini Tracked Vehicle is the beginning of a new product line for EECO. We have created a vehicle that is unlike any other all-terrain-vehicle. By using scrap tires to construct the tracks (patent pending), we have created a fun and affordable tracked vehicle that is simple to operate. Each track is controlled separately by a hand lever and the engine is controlled by a gas pedal. When both levers are pushed forward the vehicle will go straight as soon as the gas pedal it pressed. Gradual turns are performed by slightly pulling back on one lever disconnecting that track from the drive system. Tight turns and spins are performed by pulling back firmly on one lever which then applies the brake for that track. The result is a highly maneuverable vehicle that can spin within its own length.
As with our other products, very few special parts are used on the vehicle.
Parts can be obtained from EECO or any go-cart supply company.
Limitations
Since the tracks are driven by friction drive there are some limitations. Tight turns or pivot turns performed on hard surfaces such as asphalt or concrete may cause the tracks to de-rail. In some situations, mud or snow could cause the drive wheels to slip. Scrapers are installed on the inside of the tracks to keep snow, ice, or mud from building up. However, severe conditions may require that the debris be occasionally cleaned out of the inside of the tracks.
