The Indian team for the Sahara cup was announced last week. In what was a good decision on part of the selectors , Prasad and Kumble were rested. Prasad is reported to be unfit . The selectors felt it was time to give poor Kumble a beak after he looked jaded in Srilanka . Navjot Sidhu and Nayan Mongia have been dropped. Saba Karim comes back as keeper . Poor Gagan Khoda could not find a place again. The bowling looks extremely weak what with Abey Kuruvilla (under 10 matches)the most experienced seamer. Ajay Jadeja has been rewarded for his consistency . He takes over the post of Vice captain from Anil Kumble. Now the man who always kept the spirits of the team high will have some responsibility to share with Sachin . The batting looks strong on paper with the return to form of Mohd. Azharuddin. Harvinder Singh is the new face in the side.
