Whats Happening ?
NHPRC Wishes Well To The Kiely's:
Ann Marie Kiely, fellow runner of Valley Stream, NY, has recently undergone a
kidney transplant. We all wish Ann Marie and her Mom a speedy recovery and
we look forward to seeing them on the road in the near future.
June Race News:
Volunteers:
Preparations are underway for our June 8th 5 Miler and 1 Mile Fun Run. As
always, volunteers are needed. This year, Paul Mahoney will be coordinating
the volunteers. If you can make it, please contact Paul and let him know, the
sooner you can commit the better.
Maspeth Federal Savings Bank:
Once again, Maspeth Federal will be our major race sponsor. They are being
joined by the support of numerous local Merchants and Businesses. 98.3
KJOY - will be there; so will Power Bar. Early Sponsor responses came from
Meldon-Silverman Insurance, Spring Rock Golf Center, Bob Howard's
Service Station, Omega Inn Restaurant, Nassau Illustrate News, and Sterling
Bowl, Runners Edge and Runners World. Let's frequent these Sponsors and
reciprocate in our support.
Race Results in a Flash:
- Baldwin 5K-Chickie O'Toole, 1st Place in her age group.
- Central Park Biathlon; Diane Schubert and Jack McNeely come in first (a
sign of things to come).
- Power Bar 20 Miler / Central Park; Bob Nordman 2:26, Joe Sallow 3:09.
WOW!
- Aspire - Chickie O'Toole / second in her age group.
- Warren Vandewater Breaks his PR at Aspire - (Perhaps a sign of things to
come).
Volunteers Needed:
As well as RACE DAY Volunteers, we need some help distributing Race
Applications at other races. For more info call Angelo Volonakis - (516) 326-8234.
