As Jim Lancaster tells it Al made a trip down to the Poffo's ICW two or three times....... ICW( International Championship Wrestling) was based out of Lexington Tennessee and founded by wrestler-turned-promoter Angelo Poffo in 1978.... Running shows in the Tennessee/Kentucky area over a six-year period.......seeing how the show was about to end for ICW Al was not a major player in the Poffo's plans in the end of their promotion.....but hey everyone has to start somewhere The stars of the show as you would guess were Randy Savage, Leaping Lanny Poffo Other wrestlers for ICW were......Angelo Poffo, Pistol Pez Whatley, "Hustler" Rip Rogers, George Weingeroff, Ronnie Garvin, Bob Orton, Jr., Bob Roop, Boris Malenko, Crusher Broomfield,Tony Falk,Ron Sexton,Bart Batten,Big Boy Williams and his Teddy Bear Oscar,Hoot Gibson,Ox Baker,Thunderbold Paterson.Speedy Tall Tree and others The show was run on tv every Saturday mornings on Channel 3 WSIL....... Adult admission was $6.00 and childeren under 12 payed $3.00 doing little interviews before the matches was none other then Miss Elizabeth As stated Al worked at least three shows for the Poffo's.......I do not know the order of the matches but one was a singels match between Al and Speedy Tall Tree who is Tim Renesto....son of Tom Renesto who was one of the Assassins of southern fame from the late 70's and early 80's......those who have seen this match state that it was a decent bout in the range of 7-10 minutes with Al even mounting a little offense..... But even for ICW Al was doing the J.O.B......not only in the singels match but also in a tag match between Al/Big Boy Williams vs Ronnie Garvin/Hoot Gibson.......and in a match betwwen Al/Tony Falk vs Ron Sexton/Bart Batten.....in which we can give you a play by play of the match. Al/Tony Falk vs Ron Sexton/Bart Batten The match is not seen from the start but we join the wrestling as Batten and Sexton are outside the ring taking a rest.......they come close to being counted out......Bart rolls into the ring and Tony is waiting for him...... Bart hits Tony with an Arm Bar and moves over to his corner where he tags in Sexton who works Tony's arm up and down on the ropes......out of the corner and more Arm Bars on Tony by Bart.....into the corner they go again and Sexton pumps on Tony's arm.......Al tries to come into the ring but the Ref makes Al get out.......AGAIN into the corner and Tony's arm is worked on again by Sexton......up and down and up and down goes Tony's arm on the ropes.....or so Sexton thinks as he lets go turns around to find it was Barts arm he was working on.......Tony works more on Barts arm but Bart moves Tony to the ropes and gives him a boot to the guts.....an elbow to Tony's head.......Bart Tags in Sexton......Sexton with an elbow dop from the top rope......a Camel Clutch on Tony........ Folks in other words you might be wondering at this point..."Where is Al?".....well it was one of those matches where Sexton and Batten held Tony in their corner.......but oh wait......here comes Al Finaly after a commercial break Tony hits Batten with a kick to the noodle.......Al is taged in and goes to work on Bart .....Elbows to the head by Al......Bart falls to the mat Al goes for the pin and gets a two count .....A reverse chin lock by Al......a body slam by Al....... A leg drop by Al and a two count........there are only 5 minutes left in the match......Al tags in Tony Tony is hit with a power bomb and Bart tags in Sexton who runs over and knocks Al off the ring apron......Bart and Sexton start turning it on to win this match and Tony is taking a beating.......3 minutes left in the match.......a bump off the ropes and Tony leap Frogs over Sexton and tags in Al Batten is taged in and starts wacking Al on the head....... Al is sent for the ride and gets back droped on the way back....Al is seeing stars ......Batten hit Al with a back breaker.......Batten picks Al up by his hair....Batten picks up Al and moves to his corner and tags in Sexton.....Al is slamed to the mat by Bart.....bart holds down Al's arms...Sexton from the top rope with a Frog Splash onto Al ........Pin me Pay me Afterwords Sexton and Batten beat up on poor Tony Falk......Steve Mason comes running in to help Tony but gets beat up for his time Johnny Willhart then runs in to save Steve....Al is nowhere to be found..... Fade out
