High High
Now that the unveiling of Neha has begun, she
has been making an appearance in some
cinema halls with Vidhu Vind Chopra and the
Kareeb unit. And, of course, the 'mystery' is
also unfolding in the pages of magazines and on
the small screen now. The film may have been
dubbed a flop, but Neha is on a high having got
an appreciative eye all round. But her highest
high was when Amitabh Bachchan, no less,
rang up after he saw a special screening and
complimented her on her performance.

The final word
After all the hullabaloo, J.P. Dutta had to bow to
the pressure of megastar Amitabh Bachchan
and shelve the debut film of Abhishek
Bachchan, "Aakhri Mughal". They got paranoid
about the chances of a costume drama and
preferred to launch him in a regular love story.
Dutta has now announced "Refugee", a film
about the after-effects of war, a kind of
post-Border film. So, it was back to the casting
drama of the heroine. Who among the 200-odd
screen-tested to play the Small B's leading
lady? The Dutta loyalists, Jackie Shroff and
Sunil Shetty, have been recast and one of the
first names to float for "Aakhri Mughal", is in:
Kareena Kapoor. And that's official.

The year's most awaited Hindi film will soon be releasing in theatres
across the country
'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan' which stars the Big B, Amitabh Bachchan and
Govinda has already had a grand musical premiere in the country's capital
city, New
Delhi, as part of its publicity hype. The movie is a comedy and with
two of Bollywood's
best entertainers in it there is little doubt of its success. Both,
Amitabh and Govinda
have superb comic timing and casting them together has been the smartest
move of
the year. According to industry sources, the two got along famously
on the sets and
have been keeping the rest of the cast and crew of the film in splits.
Producers Vashu
Bhagnani and Sheetal Jain can definitely look forward to a hit this
year. The other
stars in the film are Raveena Tandon, Ramya, Anupam Kher and Satish
Kaushik. It's
obviously going to be a good year for them too. As for the audiences,
well, if the
movie manages to live up to expectations, this is going to be one helluva
time for
them! So all the best to the people in front of and behind the scenes
of Chote Miyan
Bade Miyan!

Zanjeer Sequel
Once upon a time Prakash Mehra was a celebrated and very busy producer
and
director in Bollywood. The man was especially famous for the movies
he made with
Amitabh Bachchan as his lead actor. The actor-director team was very
popular and
made several hits together. The most memorable among them being 'Zanjeer'.
The
film had Amitabh, his wife Jaya Bahaduri and Pran in the lead roles.
Fine
performances, superb lyrics and songs and a great storyline were what
made the film
extremely memorable. Then Amitabh kept away from films and Prakash
Mehra
became something of a recluse, choosing to make Bengali films in Calcutta's
film
industry, Tollywood. Now Amitabh is back on the circuit and the great
news is that
Mehra is planning a sequel to Zanjeer! Yes, the producer director is
charged about the
project and plans to have the same cast in the lead roles. Amitabh,
Jaya and Pran.
Now that should be one movie to watch! Time has matured the actors
and if Mehra
succeeds he will have a superhit on his hands. Here's wishing that
he does!
