Big B, Shah Rukh in Casting Coup in 'Mohabbatein'

Finally, the cat is out of the bag. In a historic casting coup of sorts, yesteryears megastar Amitabh Bachchan will match his histrionics with the new age idol Shah Rukh Khan in the much-rumored and widely speculated Yash Chopra film. Aditya Chopra, the illustrious father's whizkid son will direct the two celluloid giants.

"It has been 18 years," pointed out Yash, "since Amitabh and I came together during Silsila. During this period, we have both grown in our careers and our friendship, too, has grown. In Aditya's film now, Amitabh suits the role he plays, both age-wise and talent-wise. Shah Rukh, too, retains his image and slot. No, they are not playing father and son. This is an altogether different script. The choice of the two idols has been dictated by the script - not the other way round. We might not have worked together for a long, long time, but I have always acknowledged Amitabh's pedigree as an actor and this is what will be to the fore, now, in the film to be directed by Aditya."

The rest of the details about the film will be finalized in the next few days, says Yash adding, "I just want to end all this confusion in the media and film industry following all those stories about my rift with Shah Rukh."

The film will have six newcomers, three boys (including Yash Chopra's younger son Uday) and three girls, in the film. So will this be yet another love story? "The title is Mohabbatein and that should set to rest all doubts as to what the film is all about, right?" concludes Chopra.
