Relasing soon is Amitabh's latest Film 'Sooryavansham'

Releasing soon is Amitabh's latest film, 'Sooryavansham'. The film is produced by G.A. Sheshadri and hasbeen shot in some of the most magnificent locales of South India. And, not to forget, that major portions of it have been shot in a real, honest-to-goodness palace - the Balaram Palace Resort in Ahmedabad once home to the Nawab of Palampur. The film is a remake of a Tamil film. The Big B has a double role in the film - that of father and son. Current South Indian star Soundariya plays his leading lady and so does Jayasudha. The film also stars Anupam Kher and Kader Khan. The film's music has been composed by Anu Malik and Sameer. Directed by Satyanarayan Reddy this one is a family drama with all the essential ingredients - songs, romance, father-son conflict. So here's wishing the very best of luck of the cast and crew of Sooryavansham and also hoping that it goes on to becoming as successful as Amitabh's current hit, 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan'!

Producer No.1

He was into the audio business before turning a producer. Vashu Bhagnani, the hit producer of films like Coolie No. l, Hero No. l and the recently released Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan was so impressed by Subhash Ghai’s Khalnayak that he took to film-making. "I met my friend Ramesh Taurani and together we made Coolie No. 1." The film was a runaway hit and it gave him a firm footing in Bollywood.David Dhawan who has been the director of all his three films till date refers to him as the Producer No. 1. He feels that Vashu is the least interfering and most co-operative. Their producer-director relationship is, in fact, similar to a husband-wife relationship. "Like any normal couple there is bound to be conflicts and clashes. If the understanding is perfect, then divorce is ruled out," says Bhagnani.

For his recent film, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, he joined hands with Amitabh Bachchan’s secretary Sheetal Jain. They then worked out a partnership and the film went into production in May ’97. The film proved to be a bigger success than Bhagnani’s expectations. BMCM is showing in 700 theatres. The first week’s collection was 100 per cent, second week’s 90 per cent and third week’s 80 per cent. After a slight dip, the collections picked up again from the fourth week onwards. Interestingly, though he has his own distribution company, Puja Films and has successfully distributed films like Ziddi, Khuddar, BMCM was distributed by Shringar films., Tinnu Anand and Shivaji Satam. The film's music is by Viju Shah.
