Allthough their web-site tells us that:"their main-purpose is to experiment with every form of graphical information and combine elements like video- recordings, computer animation and live camera-footage in a way that brings the visual experience to a higher level" A.U.R.A. decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. The footage on the internet was ofcourse impossible to analyse, but our first impression was following:
* Or this was a meteor seen in the early evening
* Or this might be created by CV.
But to be sure CV agreed they would send us a VHS-copy of the footage so we would be able to analyze the object more closely. Weeks past and A.U.R.A. did not recieve the VHS that was promised to us. The two e-mails that asked for the tape sent to CV after four weeks of waiting were not answered untill this date!
We seriously suspect the people at Captain Video tried to use the whole UFO-story to get some fame, but now we want to analyze the footage it seems to be a quite different thing... Well, if we'll ever get an answer or the VHS we'll keep you informed. But don't let your hopes raise to high on this one!
UPDATE:
On August 23rd 1998, we recieved a rather hasty written e-mail by one of the Captain Video-VJ's. They 'proudly announced' a quick-time version of the same event, and two enlarged stills. Now here's our question:
Why, if they appearantly had the time to create a quick-time version and those stills, why then didn't they make the time to send us a VHS-version of it? Or just the time to reply at least one of our e-mails. After taking a closer look at the qt.version of the alledged "UFO" we are strongly in the belief that this a digital generated hoax created by CV.
CASE CLOSED.
