Three monkeys sat in a cocoanut tree
Discussing things as the're said to be.
Said to one to the other, "Now listen, you too;
There's a certain rumor that cannot be true.
That man decended from our noble race -
The very idea is a total disgrace.

No monkey ever deserted his wife'
Abused their babies or ruined her life;
And you've never known a mother monk
To leave her babies with others to bunk.

And another thing you'll never see:
A monkey build a fence 'round a cocoanut tree
And let the cocoanuts go to waste,
Forbidding all other monks a taste.
Why, if I put a fence around a tree,
Starvation will force you to steal from me.

Here's another thing a monkey won't do:
Go party at night and get stewed.
Or use a club, a gun or knife
To take some other monkey's life.
