I'll Never Break Your Heart/Fighting AJ/Lil' B-Rok/I Love You Came Too Late/Baby Girl

The night wore on and soon everyone was tired. It was about one in the morning and things were finally getting close to done. Jen was sitting in the seats in the theatre and Howie was asleep with his head on her shoulder. I'm sure it was more comfortable than the cone he fell asleep on while filming the "Show me the Meaning" video. When they filmed Nick's singing part of the video, I happened to be on stage next to him performing what he was singing in American Sign Language. I didn't plan it, neither did Matthew, but he liked it. That night's shoot ended at two and everyone was wrapped except Howie, Nick, AJ and Brian. Jen, Amanda, Olivia and I stayed in LA until the guys finished the next day, while Kevin and Kristin flew home to Orlando so Kevin could have his knee surgery done. The eight of us wound up on the same flight back to Orlando and when we landed, Brian followed Jen and I home. Jen dropped me off at her apartment and Brian appeared shortly after she left to go "fix Howie's hair." I let Brian in, not saying anything to him.

"Becca, I miss you," he said to me. I kept quiet. Slowly he lowered himself on the couch. "Please tell me what I did."

"You're famous," I told him softly.

"Yeah?"

"Brian, I never would have been stalked if it wasn't for you." I yelled.

"So now you're blaming me?" Brian yelled back.

"No! I'm blaming myself. If I hadn't gotten involved with you, none of this would have happened."

"What do you mean?" Brian asked in a normal tone.

"If I never would have gotten involved with you, Mike wouldn't have started stalking me again."

"You can't be sure of that."

"Why not? Things were fine until you came along."

"So what am I supposed to do?" Brian asked. "What can I do to get you back?"

"Quit the band," I told him flatly.

Brian reached in his pocket and pulled out his cell phone. He dialed a number and waited. "AJ," he said into the phone. "I quit." I couldn't hear AJ's response, but I knew it wasn't good. "Why?" Brian asked. "Because my girlfriend's life is in danger because of me. I love her AJ. If I have to quit to keep her safe, so be it. So I quit." Brian listened for a bit and then said, "I'll tell them later. We'll talk more when I get home. Bye." Brian hung up the phone and said to me, "You happy now?"

I just stared at him. I didn't think he'd actually up and quit the band. "Brian," I started to say, then thought better of it. I stared at him a bit longer before I said, "We'll think of something. Don't quit because of me. I don't think I could deal with the thought that I made you give up your dreams."

"But you're worth it," he said, placing a hand on my cheek. "You are so worth it."

I looked at him. "No one's ever done that for me," I whispered.

"It's because I love you and I want to help you."

"But how can you help me? You don't know what it's like being stalked," I told him angrily.

Brian looked at me funny before he said in a sarcastic tone, "No, I don't know what it's like. I don't have thousands of girls following me everywhere I go, throwing themselves at me. Of course I don't know what it's like to be stalked."

I laughed slightly. "Okay, so maybe you do," I told him.

"Let me help you."

"I can't," I said. "Brian, just leave, okay. Please." Brian got up and looked at me as he walked out the door. I was letting the best thing I had in my life slip right through my fingers.
