Love and Marriage

The author of my self-help book was Bill Crosby and he wrote a book explaining all of the loves of his life. He explains what was wrong with each one of his previous girlfriends and what was right with his wife. There was no set purpose in this book. It is a narrative book, a sort of autobiography of only the love aspect of his life. Which seems to make the story one-sided. It is missing some major day to day continuity. But it is in sequential order. It basically just tells about his love life from childhood and up.

Bill Crosby’s expertise on the subject of love and marriage comes from the fact that he has been married for over twenty-five years. And he stresses that fact in the book.

I think that he encourages people to experience love for themselves. And that no matter how hard a couple tries communication is going to be imperfect. He puts great stock in the fact that men and women are not just physically different, but are different from the womb on into later life.

There is no given reason for why he writes the book. He has written two others. I feel that he likes to share his knowledge with others.

I understand what he is saying, but I do not think that I am going to make any changes in my life style. I agree with him that a lot of couples misunderstand each other when it comes to communication.

This book was interesting. There was a smooth storyline. I did not really like Bill Crosby before I read this. The stories are funny and the book kept me entertained. I thought that I was going to be boring, but it was not.

This book teaches patience. He tells a situation in which he did not understand something about girls until later on, or still does not understand. There are no step-by-step instructions for this. It is a sink or swim situation. He tells many stories of his girlfriends from childhood where he could not understand them and they could not understand him.

The End.

I have no grade for this paper. I think this was actually supposed to be responses to questions, but I didn’t have a copy of the questions, so that maybe why the essay seems a bit strange.
