emily is the founder of the absolutely most important weekly tradition at
swarthmore: thursday night 90210 night. i am absolutely blessed for having
found a fellow 90210 follower- especially one willing to keep up the habit
into college (and into swarthmore, nonetheless!). i don't know how i made
it through freshman year without watching, but emily eventually pulled me
into enlightenment. emily and i met waiting in line to audition for chorus our second semester freshman year. we both made it in, plus we were both in the infamous "music as social history" class. it was a tentative but solid friendship. emily knows how to rescue me, which i need sometimes. she'll take me to diners at 2 in the morning, to concerts at the tin angel, and gets me sufficiently drunk enough to show off my nipples... nevermind. as emily once said of me, i will say of her: emily is the "queen of my heart." |
