How To Make A Animated Banner

I'm sure you've all seen animated banners on other websites and wished you knew how to make one for yourself! Well I'm gonna teach you how to do just that. Its too easy! Why let the other guys have the good looking pages? Are you ready to do this?

First! You need homepage! So if you don't already have one, you can go to Tripod, Geocities, Angelfire, ect. and set up an account. But for these examples we'll use Tripod.

1. Think about what you want your banner to say! I'll tell you what! Let's make one that says ( My Homepage is the best! ) How's that sound?

2. Now! You need to go to your file manager and create a new subdirectory. What you're basically going to do is create three separate banners and put all three in this directory. Let's name this directory (banner)!

3. Next you can go to one the automatic banner makers such as Cooltext, Cool Archives to create your banners. For your first few banners, you might want to use a black background. For some reason black seems easier to work with.

NOTE!! All banners must be the same size!!!!!

4. You want to name your banners in order. Like this!

banner1.gif

banner2.gif

banner3.gif

A. banner1.gif will say!

B. banner2.gif will say!

C. banner3.gif will say!

Now that you've got your banners made and in your subdirectory. Now go the directory and view your first banner.

Use your go to button to get the URL. Here's the URL for banner1. https://members.tripod.com/~AliveNKickin2/banner/banner1.gif

While you have the banner URL in the text area, remove the name of the banner from the end of the URL so that it looks like this. https://members.tripod.com/~AliveNKickin2/banner/

You're removing the banner1.gif from the URL. Make sure you leave the / at the end or it won't work. Now! While the URL is in the text area, press CMD A to shadow the URL and then press CMD C to copy the URL.

Now you have to take the URL to Image Magick

When you get to Image Magick, go down to where it say's URL. Paste the URL using CMD V into the text area and press view.

On the next page at the very top you'll see OUTPUT. Click on that and it will take you to the output page.

Scroll down to FORMAT and choose gif.

Now right below that you'll see STORAGE TYPE! Choose MULTI-FRAME FILE

Next! Go further down the page and you'll see DELAY IN IOOth of a second. Change the number to 125. Now a little further down you'll see LOOP! Put 0 in the box.

Now go back up the page and press OUTPUT!

On this page go down and click on the banner you made. On the next page use your goto button and copy the temporary URL. Now you can transload your new banner to you fie manager! I told you it was easy! Check out your new banner!
