Matango - Push along the walls in the Inn of Matango. There is a hole in a wall that leads to the doorway behind the counter where the mushroom guy is standian.
Southtown - Near the southern part of Southtown, there is a way to walk between the trees. If you keep walking left, you'll end up behind a house.
Tasnica - In Tasnica, go to the left wing of the castle where there is a guy that sells stuff (you'll recognize him). To get to him, go to the counter, standing in front of the wall. Push down and walk right, and you should get to a secret passage. Walk right, up, then left.
In tasnica, take the left branch and keep going until you reach the farthest room. You will notice a carpet that seems to go right into the wall...it does. It will lead you to the right route.
Todo Village - Go to Todo Village and walk to the bridge. If you try to walk up, you will walk on the ice.
Kakkara deserts - This will lead you to the Moon Palace even before you get Flammie. Start off in Kakkara desert and walk outside into the desert. Walk as far north east as possible. When you get to a screen with a path up north (one that isn't connected), go to the right, as far up and right as you possible can, then press and hold A, up and left. You should run right onto the path. Charon will be out to lunch, or the game will mess up.
Mana Beast - In the fight against the Mana Beast, as he charges you, run left and down, and with the other controller have both magic users cast Mana Magic on you. If timed properly, as the Mana Beast charges, you will be knocked straight off the platform. You can walk around a bit until the game freezes, and some say they have walked far enough to see Charon's Ferry. Could this be part of a trick to escape the final fight with your magic users having Mana Magic?
Air Blast - is a tornado
Exploder - big explosion
Gem Missle - Way better!
Fire Bouquet - Longer, bigger, better
Dark Force - longer, bigger explosion
Cure Water - The next royal jam
Lucent Beam - beams surround your enemy
Absorbs - bigger absorb balls
Lava wave - enemy sinks in lava
Earth Slide - face on boulder
Blaze wall - flames are higher
Freeze - five times bigger
Burst - longer and bigger explosion
All Sabers - longer lasting
Fire Ball - three dragons
The best way to defeat an enemy is to cast an elemental right after the element disappears. Automatically cast another spell. The character casting the spell (Sprite) will not be affected by any magic the enemy uses on him while he is casting
There is a face in the ocean, a trademark symbol of Square's, probably. You can find the face South of the hidden continent.
To get back into Potos, you need Flammie and all your characters. Keep switching between players and pressing up to get in. Press down and keep switching between players to get back out. If you should happen to get stuck, and this has happened to me, use Flammie.
Some Enemies will leave treasures that are really useful. Dark Knights in the Dark Palace will leave Magical armour whereas Embermen will leave faerie walnuts.
Embermen are worth LOTS of HP, GP, and experience. Killing them for a really long time will get you everything you need. CHECK IT OUT!
To get the Mana sword, make a copy of your game file in Pandora or somewhere except the Ice Country. You should have two same files now. Now fly to Neko's Island just North of the Ice Country. Save one of the files here. Now start a new file, playing until you fall in the hole in Potos. After Elliot says his first line, reset for three seconds holding R, L, select, and start. Now open the file you saved in the Ice Country. You should be fighting The Mantis Ant. If this doesn't work and you get a black screen, use the file you saved somewhere else and repeat these steps.
For the above trick, I have tried it with different orbs, and it HAS worked. However, I tried it fighting Tropicallo and the Elder was blocking the exit, so I couldn't exit.
"Get the Mana Sword to level 9, then revisit every palace and re-seal every seed. Then, go to the pure land and land anywhere on the white spot with Flammie. When at the Mana Tree, all elementals will come together to form the hidden elemental, Solar" Sound Familiar? Solar Magic was 'proven' nonexistant, some still claim to have found it. Apparently there are screenshots posted at www.mana.com - but seems no one is able to access this. I've recently heard that you can get the elemental once you reach a certain level or if you have an older version of the game. I, personally, have not found the elemental, but I don't believe it doesn't exist.
Cast a spell on a single character equiped with the weapon of your choice, and simply go to the weapon selection menu and switch the powered-up weapon with a non-powered up weapon equipped to someone else. I recommend casting Lunar on the sword for constant HP regeneration.
This trick allows your characters to permanently have super strength, speed, defense, or any other power from the girl's magic menu. Simply cast the spell of your choice on any single character, sleep at the Inn and immediately save your game. Restart, and the next time the game is loaded, your character will have that power permanently. You can do this with as many power spells as you like, but some spells may interfere with others and cause previous powers to disapear. Nevertheless, this trick is great for if your character is already at its maximum power level and you aren't satisfied with his/her levels.
Equip one character with a low-level weapon, and another with a high-level weapon. Assign each character to a different controller. Have the character with the high-level weapon charge up to maximum, and with the second controller, bring up the weapon menu, and switch weapons with the other character with the charged weapon. When released, the weapons will switch, and the one with a low power level will perform a leveled-up attack!
Buy a barrel and equip it on one character (the Sprite makes for a better show). Now have the girl cast one of the Saber spells on him (flame saber). The barrel will glow red and the Sprite will seem be cooking inside the barrel. Make him run around frantically for best comedic impact.
Those not used in controlling a Confused character (handling the controls backwards), there is a simple answer. Go to the controller settings menu and press R or L to reverse the commands. Now everything works as normal.
Have you ever sat there and watched the National Scar flip the pages of his book? If you sat there long enough, you might catch a pretty interesting page. One that shows a naked girl lying on her front (nothing showing). There is a picture of a heart just above her butt. Yes, I HAVE seen it, it does exist.
Shadow Zero has no purpose or use in the game. Very rarely, you will see him jump out of a treasure chest, look around nervously, and then run away. No, you can't catch him! It's just some kind of 'decoration' Square threw in. Getting a Shadow Zero is basically the same thing as getting an empty chest.
This lets you face the enemy and attack while being able to walk away at the same time. Hold R and continue normally.
If you are having problems raising your weapon level higher than 8:00, read the following: First, equip 2 characters with weapons already maxed out (8:99), and your third with the weapon which will not raise in levels. Second, go to a good level-raising area (such as the Chrystal Forest), and kill some enemies. Now all the weapon points will go towards the weapon who will not go up. If it still doesn't work, try killing 2 or even 3 enemies at a time, that should get it going.
This is hard to get to work, but I've seen it happen. Have the girl cast a spell, and immediately call upon Flammie. The screens might overlap, or make the spell freeze on the screen as your characters are getting picked up.
Do the first step you used for the ninth sword orb, then play a new game. Play up to the log bridge then reset and play from ice country file. you will see your three characters heads in the water, then you will all be teleported to potos. You will all be invisible so cure on of them with a candy and you will be seeable again, leave after you can see only one of you're characters, its really cool!
The best way to get your magic level really high is to stay at one of the palaces (wind palace, water palace). Luka and Grandpa restore your MP and your HP if you talk to them. Keep casting magic and talk to them once your out of MP. I've found that (with the girl) you can raise 2 elementals to level 8:99 (from level 2 or 3) in under 15 minutes if you try hard enough.
If you ally has dies, before the hit points appear, use a royal jam. If you aren't in time, use another one. This is good if you don't have any cup of wishes in a dungeon or something.
To beat Spikey Tiger easily, you must let him chew on you. It's True! When he's busy chewing on you, swich characters and hit him. He'll won't harm you when he's busy chewing.
You can actually kill Karon, the Robin Foot that guards the Ferry to the Moon Place. Use magic on her and she will 'die'. Try it! You can't do this when on the Ferry.
You can dispel SLOW (magic) by levelling up your weapon to lv. 1, then releasing. It'll break the magic.
If you or your ally have magic casted on them, using the midge mallet twice may prevent them from getting hit.
Getting fired out of cannon travel center's cannon 50 times will make your character invincible.
It is believed that if you enter a dungeon, find a weapon orb, them get Watts to forge it, if you return to the spot where you found that weapon orb, another one will still be there. I don't know if this is true, but try it.
Use all four of your candies, chocolates, and jams, and you will have infinite life.
*Note - these last four must be tested before I consider them true.
Someone sent me an e-mail saying that if you managed to reach level 50 before even entering Potos, you will be invincible. I'm certainly not going to spend my time reaching level 50 just to see if this is true, but if anyone else has tried it, e-mail me and let me know that it works.
I will update you on any other secrets I find.
