IF YOU HAVE CURLY HAIR... *At the beach: You should smooth an anti-frizz serum, like ARTec Textureline Shine & Frizz Repair, over damp hair. This'll keep the frizzies down, protect your curls from the sun's rays, and stop your strands from soaking up chlorine and salt water. *After the beach: Revive your curls by washing 'em once a week with a clarifying shampoo (like Salon Selectives Daily Clarifying Shampoo). This'll get rid of the stuff (like sand, sweat, and chlorine) that makes your 'do droopy (you know-your hair's flat up top and puffy around the bottom). IF YOU HAVE WAVY HAIR... *At the beach: Smooth a slick hair wax (like Redken Water Wax) over dry or damp hair. The humectants (hair lingo for moisturizing stuff) in waxes help keep your locks frizz-free. Plus, waxes contain sun filters, so apply some along your part to avoid a fried scalp! *After the beach: Spray a leave-in conditioner ontop damp hair, then smooth a gel over your strands. You can pump up your waves by scrunching sections up toward the top of your head with your hands. IF YOU HAVE STRAIGHT HAIR... *At the beach: When the water and wind totally snar your strands, grab a detangler (a drop of conditioner will do) and run it through your hair with your fingers. Next, flip your head over and use a wide-tooth comb to carefully get rid of any knots. *After the beach: Sun damage can totally strip your hair and cause icky split ends. To restore sheen, let hair dry, then apply a shine spray, combing it down to your ends.
