A few short poems
Every night, I am alone
I sit and wait
Praying to the phone
Unshed tears, and a silent scream
I need you here
To wake me from this dream
Pounding on the windows
Clawing at the walls
I brought myself up
Only to, once
again, fall
As god laughs at her once more
The
thunder rolls, the rain pours down
Lightening strikes her heart
Leaving only the twisted, smouldering remains
Of her
shattered dreams
Like a wilted rose
She falls to her knees
Carefully gathering the pieces
She rises, and slowly walks
out the door
And on the stormiest seas
You are my
lighthouse
Guiding me safely through the roughest waves
Drawing me into your light
Love is like a cancer
Eating away inside
But if it kills me tonight
I cannot
think of a better way to have died
A DARKER VIEW
In your mind's eye
You see me as an angel
Soaring among the clouds
In mine
My wings are dried
up and broken
They fall away
And I plummet from my place in
the heavens
Into the darkest depths of hell
