+ Glay's 1999 live at Makuhari went down in history as the biggest rock/pop concert ever held in Japan (and fourth in the world). It was attended by 200,000 people.
+ Hisashi injured his leg during one of their concerts and apparently has stopped being so active on stage.
+ Hisashi got married in late 1999 to a woman named Izumi.
+ Teru was married and has two kids.
+ Glay is on very friendly terms with Sugizo of Luna Sea, especially Takuro.
+ Glay was given their big break by Yoshiki of X Japan who signed them under his indie label Extasy Records, which also handled Luna Sea, who was in turn given their big break by hide, lead guitarist of X Japan.
+ Later Glay changed record labels because they didn't want to be under the shadow of Yoshiki. Actually, Glay seems to be forever trying to exorcize the influence of Yoshiki, real or imagined - I doubt most of Glay's current fans even know they were discovered by him.
+ Glay covered hide's (amazing) song Misery on the tribute album and performed it during Makuhari. I don't know how they interpreted the song because I always skip that part in the Makuhari video ^^;; - I just feel that nobody can do justice to hide's songs other than hide himself ^_^.
+ Sugizo is guest guitarist on one of their songs, Fried Chicken and Beer.
+ Takuro is said to be going out with Aikawa Nanase or Nakayama Miho, both famous singers.
+ Jiro is voted "Most Wanted Boyfriend" in a Japanese magazine.
+ Jiro is also voted "number one trendsetter" in another Japanese magazine.
+ Teru is said to be seeing Ami, a member of pop act Puffy. Wedding plans are rumored to be in the future, and Puffy may disband as a result. Btw, the other Puffy member is either dating or has recently married TMR, that ubiquitous pop star. Wonder if they've ever double-dated ^^.
+ There are rumors that Hisashi and Jiro do not get along well.
+ They're all from Hokkaido, though Jiro joined the band slightly later.
+ Takuro admires John Lennon and is influenced by the late artist. Glay performed during the opening of the John Lennon museum in Japan... or something like that ^^.
+ Jiro has apparently been co-habiting
with his long-time girlfriend, an entertainment magazine editor. They have
recently wedded.
