Rhode Island is nicknamed "The Ocean State" for obvious reasons, although RI is also known as "The Biggest Little State in the Union" It runs 48 miles long x 37 miles wide. RI has over 400 miles of seascape and well over 100 beaches, hence the name "Ocean State" get it...got it..good..
