INNOCENCE LOST
I am alive,
Not knowing what to expect,
Not sure I understand.
Only accepting that I am.
Can you help me?
Are you able to explain?
New experiences
Cause fear, happiness.
Energy abound.
Let me get to know you.
Open your heart to me.
Suddenly I am not frightned.
There is you.

Poetry is the key to opening the lock on my heart. It has always touched my soul. I believe that it is a true part of who I am, and would like to share some of the poetry I have written. I hope that this will help you know me better! If you think one of these was written with you in mind, you may be right! Please let me know what ya think!
Please note that all of my poems are copyrighted. I do not mind you using them, but PLEASE give me credit for the work! If you use one on your homepage, please add a link to this page. My writing is a part of my soul, please do not steal it from me! I appreciate your honesty!
Close your eyes.
Feel the breeze softly touch your face,
A gentle hand, a caress of love.
I am there.
Feel the warmth of the sun taking away the chills,
the fear, the anger.
I am there.
Listen to the birds calling out to you,
singing of strength, songs of joy.
I am there.
Stop and smell the sweet fragrance of the flowers.
Let their scent take you to a simpler time.
A red rose.
I am in your heart, your mind.
I will never leave you.

TIPPY
With innocence in your eyes
and silence on your lips,
You wrapped me in the
warmth of your love.
Nightmares plagued
each night's sleep.
Despair - each morning hour.
Yet, you, in your youth,
with all the strength you gained
from past heartaches,
were able to show me
what love truly is.
You taught me patience, giving,
how to fight the unending battle
to remain sane
in a cruel, punishing world.
Such understanding should
not be learned at
a tender, young age.
Yet, I am grateful that you did.
For you, though now gone from my life,
taught me everything I know
about motherhood, about life.
