The CD begins with an intro, "The Oath" not at all like the one on their previous album. It is much longer and melodious in style. Near the end of it the tempo changes and it slides smoothly into "Ye Entrancemperium", a great song, one of my favorites by Emperor. An interesting part of "Anthems" is track number ten, "Opus A Satana". It's like a different version of "inno A Satana" on their previous album, except it is done in a classical, majestic style with no vocals or heavy sound at all. I enjoyed that. In all, "Anthems to the Welkin At Dusk" is a really good album. The production is better then "In the Nightside Eclipse". There is more mixing, but at times the CD seems a bit over mixed. At first, I liked it better than their last album, but I don't think so anymore. "Anthems" is very good, but "In the Nightside Eclipse" is the classic, true Emperor sound. RATING:
