TRACKS: 1.An Autumn leaf In The Circles Of Time 2.Simply Dead 3.A Thousand Rivers 4.Mistress Tears 5.Carven 6.Spire 7.In Rememberance Of A Shroud 8.Splendid Horror Here is the latest from the Norwegian band Dismal Euphony, a five piece band on this particular album. Unfortunately, keyboardist Elin has left Dismal Euphony after the recording of this album. She has joined a new project. Member Frode Clausen has been added to Dismal Euphony. "Autumn Leaves" is an album that I waited over two months for on order. I don't think it has been released in Canada as of yet unless ordered. I find Dismal Euphony's sound on this album fairly different than their sound on "Soria Moria Slott". For example, they have produced many more different and interesting sounds on the synth. There's classic piano as well as church organ, incorporated with the intricate and unusual sound of Dismal Euphony. Keltziva seems to be experimenting with her voice. This is very prominent in the song "Simply Dead". I think I like her other singing style better, it does not sound as forced. There is a really bizarre song at the end of this album, "Splendid Horror". It seems as though Dismal Euphony tried to do some techno. The result is really not that great. They are amazing at what they already do. Without that song, the album would be better. Oh yes, and the songs are in English this time, except for "Spire", a slow and entrancing song with only Keltziva's voice in Norwegian. This album definitely has a particualr mood to it. It is an album that has to grow on you. Once appreciated, "Autumn Leaves" is a great album. RATING
