This is Dismal Euphony's first release, their demo. Dismal Euphony is a band originating
from Norway. The music they play is beautiful and originally melodious black metal
which involves a creative use of synth and an interesting contrast between a grim black
metal scream and the captivating soprano female voice. "Spellbound" is a great taste of
what Dismal Euphony can do, and it leaves you wanting more. The first track, "A Winter's
Tale" is a beautiful song, as well as the second track, "Spellbound". Both songs can be
found, mixed differently, on Dismal Euphony's full legnth release, "Soria Moria Slott."
On "Spellbound" the songs are in English. In "Soria" they are in Norweigian. Having
listened to "Soria" as well as "Spellbound", I was amazed to hear the differences in
sound. I find that guitar sounds are much more apparent in "Spellbound". The female 
voice is also different, although, neither version is lacking in any way. Even with
only three songs, "Spellbound" is a great album.
