I have been waiting to hear this album for quite an extensive length of time, at least for the better part of a year. I finally gave a tape to my friend Craig, who taped it for me. So far, I just cannot get enough of this album. Storm is a band who plays very unique music, Norse folk with a metal influence. The band members are Satyr Wongraven from Satyricon, Kari Rueslaatten, former member of 3rd and the mortal, and Herr Nagell, Fenriz. Some of the songs on this album are actually traditional Norse folk tunes redone by the band. The sound ends up being extremely intense and intriguing. Storm uses both male and female clean vocals with strong guitar riffs, and pounding drums. All the lyrics are in Norwegian. One can really feel the Norwegian soul in Storm’s Nordavind. Sometimes Nordavind makes one want to grab a mug of beer and chant! The album is 33 minutes long. This is the only fault of the album, I wish it lasted longer.
