The Brook's Family...
First off, I would like to thank you for visiting our web site. Whether you are a dedicated Cairnite, like myself, or just someone interested in learning more about this wonderful little breed please feel free to browse our site. Many of the links available have further information of interest as well as some great photos of Cairn Terriers.
Our Kennel...
We have been involved in purebred dogs for over 11 years now. Four years ago a lovely brindle bitch, who we named Meadowwyn's Rockin Robin, stole our hearts and we have not looked back since. Since Robin, the Cairn Terrier, has truely become a permanent part of our family and our lives. We will never again be without them!
Currently we have only 3 Cairns, as we like to remain a small kennel placing our dogs as family members first, show dogs second, breeding only 1-2 litters per year.
Each breeding is done so selectively with the intention of producing better Cairns. We breed only mentally, physically and genetically sound dogs with careful concern for improving our foundation and providing new owners with loving, healthy companions.
Cairnbrook babies are always whelped and raised in our home to ensure proper socialization from birth. They are regularly exposed to a variety of textures, sounds, smells, people and other pets to provide their new owners with a well rounded stable Cairn.
All of our puppies are selectively placed, with those who qualify, by a written contractual agreement. All pets are placed under a CKC non-breeding agreement to ensure the best interest of the breed is strictly upheld. Occasionally we have a quality show/breeding prospect available for the serious the show/breeder home.
Although our dogs are beloved family companions, they are also competitive show dogs none the less. Both our girls have proven themselves in stiff competition and finished their Canadian championships easliy in limited showing. Our newest addition, a young male, looks very promising as well and will be making his debue the summer of '98'.
Our Home...
Our home is located on the beautiful West Coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia Canada. Between hikes through the rainforest, strolls along the beach and cruzing the harbour, our dogs keep themselves busy, rustling up the odd young crab or other sea creature. There never seems to be an end to their curiosity ... a facinating trait of the Cairn Terrier.
Our Family...
My husband Mike is very supportive of my quest for producing quality Cairns...or maybe it's really just a lack of interest that allows me to go about this passion for dogs without his interferance. Never the less it is much appreciated!
Our two children, James (age 10) and Elizabeth (age 5) love our Cairns dearly. Between hockey, baseball, soccer, ballet and gymnastics the dogs have two very devoted friends.
What kennel would be complete without a resident cat? Rescued from an animal shelter, approximately 6 years ago, Surf has been put through the test of time with our crew. Chased by over exerburant puppies, tackled by tiny but tuff teens and soaked down by Cairn drool, this is one tolerant feline!
