Dawson Leary (James Van Der Beek) is the boy next door and the
start of our nightly soap opera. Steven Speilberg fan and film buff,
he is an inspired to be a film maker. A director. Speilberg is his
all time role model. "Pretty much worship the man in a god-like way."
Dawson tells Jen. Dawson believes that every Speilberg movie holds
the answers to civilzations' most burning extremely baffling
questions. He works at a movie store in town with is friend, Pacey
Witter (Josh Jackson).
His best friend in the whole wide world is Joey Potter (Katie Holmes).
Joey and him have known each other since they were kids.
Confiding in each other all their dark secrets and fantasies. Now that
they are a little grown up, things start to get confusing in the feelings
department. Joey's in love with him, but he doesn't really know that.
Dawson's object of infatuation is Jennifer Lindley (Michelle Williams).
They went out for a couple episodes. He fell for her pretty badly. When
they broke up, he was torn to bits.
Now, Dawson is suddenly realizing that he really truly loves Joey. Even
his beloved camara can't hid that.
Dawson is pretty self absorbed most of the time. He really tries to
tell himself that nothing could be better than his friendship with Joey
right now. He denials the idea to explore to possibilities after. What
a wimp, huh?
