Tiger first flew when he was still a cub, and his father was teaching him the basics of flying. Later on, about a year or so later, his father, who worked for Covert Ops, his team was captured, interrogated, and killed on a widescreen basis of the Lylat System so everyone could see. Tiger was filled with a bitter rage which he doesn't show in front of others. Tiger was accepted into the Cornerian Air Defense Corps at the age of sixteen and fought in all the battles and wars against Andross, and set a record for most kills, and not getting shot down once in the ensuing battles. Tiger continues to keep up his reputation as a flawless pilot, and his skills rival those of even the legendary James McCloud. Tiger was just accepted onto the Star Fox Team after a long range patrol. His best friend is Captain Ratner Sly, and his nickname for the mouse is midget, due to their few inches of height difference. He also calls Sly "Shrimp", and would say if Sly ever had a callsign like he did, it would be: "Shrimp".

Tiger hardly ever speaks about his past, love life, or much otherwise. He specifically talks about missions, and the closest he has ever come to talking about past is with Sly. Tiger occasionally drinks at victory parties, but not much otherwise. He is usually the designated pilot for the group.
