1:28 AM The bar's empty, there were only three or four people in there to begin with, but, hey, it is pretty hidden. There's a jukebox there, which is fun. It's where the owner makes a good chunk of his money. We do some more dancing; Kevin asks me a lot about Liz. I don't tell him about Eric, but it's not like she's ever going to have another opportunity like this anytime soon, so what boyfriend don't know, won't hurt boyfriend. I spend most of the night talking to A.J. It's weird, as we bounce from topic to topic, it feels strangely familiar, like I've known him before. Don't take this as cliché, this happens to me with other people. Like Liz, she grew up in Spain and I've lived in New York all my life, but when I met her, it was like I'd known her before. And I do believe in past lives and all that stuff, but that's a whole other story. Anyway, A.J. and I just talk and hang out and dance. He's only a year older than I am, which is cool, and we get along famously. He's got gorgeous eyes, not that you can tell behind the sunglasses or anything, but I get him to take them off. "So you guys stayed for the entire show?" I ask, I need to know. "Yeah, it was awesome." after a pause, "Are you worried about that last play?" he asked. "Well, don't be, you did very well... Leather Girl" he jokes. Again, I make the same expression of shock. "Oh, fine, be like that. You're lucky I like you, or you'd be catchin' a beat-down right now." I say, jokingly. "But, at least I wasn't Lace Girl, poor Adrienne, her outfit was too much, or rather too little for me." "True" he replied "But you are a great dancer... I mean, I'm not implying like an exotic dancer or that you should, I mean I um... Hey, I really liked that first one you were in, about the three friends, that was my favorite." Had he backpedaled any faster he would have hit the wall. We laugh about it and I feel a lot less embarrassed about the whole thing. Liz picked the last song; it's my turn. I find my favorite song from my favorite movie on the jukebox, "Hungry Eyes" from Dirty Dancing
"I've been meaning to tell you, I've got this feeling that won't subside..." I had to pick that one, and of course, I have to ask my cutie over here to dance. "I look at you and I... fantasize" It's a really nice slow dance, a little faster than a normal one, but still. We talk a little more while we dance, but we mostly just look at each other and smile, and laugh at one point. "You're mine, tonight... Now I've... got you in my sights, with these... hungry eyes" He pulls me in tightly halfway through the song; he's got great arms, too. I just close my eyes, rest my head on his shoulder, and let the moment happen. "One look at you and I can't disguise, I've got... hungry eyes... I feel the magic between you and I..." As the song ends, I look back up at him and he kisses me. This is not your everyday kiss, in fact, I gave him a little kiss earlier, but that was nothing, comparatively. We give ourselves time to get into this one; he starts out soft and sweet, and gets more urgent as we go on. "I need you to see, this love was meant to be..." The song ends, and it feels like eternity, but we're only kissing for a few moments longer. He looks at me with those soul-piercing eyes, and we go back to talking. "What time is it?" he asks. "Hm, what?" I'm sort of off on my own planet at the moment. "You keep looking at your watch." he says.
