The third Slayer called into  Sunnydale's hellmouth.
     Sunnydale's original name  was Boca del  Inferno which
     translates literally to the "mouth of hell". The first
     Slayer called  into  Sunnydale was Buffy Anne Summers,
     she  was  drowned  by the  now deceased Master and was
     thusly recusitated  by Alexander L.Harris. Next Slayer 
     was called Kendra and hailed from the islands, she was
     a Slayer  since  youth,  whereas Buffy  was an anomaly
     and was located by the Council in her late teens. 

       Kendra was  well  taught  and  book trained  by  her 
     Watcher Sam  Zabuto. While quick  to  fight, there was
     a lot in battle Kendra  was  unprepared  for. Such  as
     her hypnotism  inspired  murder by the hands of insane
     vampiress Drusilla.

       After Kendra's  death  the  next Slayer was activated 
     and made her way to Sunnydale by  way  of Boston.  With
     several  stops  in the  south  such  as Florida. She is 
     called Faith and hailed originally  from South  Boston.
     Faith's mother was an alcoholic, and said to be dead as
     for  a  father  figure, none  has  been  mentioned. Her
     first Watcher  was  murdered  by  an  old cloven hooved
     vampire called Kakistos. Murdered  horribley at that in
     front of Faith,  which  caused her to  flee  Boston  to 
     escape that horror and Kakistos.

      Education wise, Faith has  admitted  to dropping out of
    high school. Although  don't  let  that fact mislead you,
    Faith is quick  and cunning with  street  smarts to boot.
    Plus there's that  Slayer  strength. Faith  is a  leather
    clad bad girl, who likes to showcase her body to get what
    she wants. Faith desperately wants someone  to  care, but
    by   nature  she  is  distrusting. Her instict  for  self 
    preservation overrides any attempts at friendship.
