Future Sound of London (FSOL) : You know we have explosive, track Dead Cities is lush and relaxing, I suggest the album Dead Cities a gorgeous album that should play all day through.
Portishead: Singer Beth's haunting vocals swirl around hypnotic soundscapes, if you thought Dummy was fly, the new self-titled album will thrill you, Portishead is more than just "Sour Times, (Nobody Loves Me)".
Orbital : I can't pick one Orbital album to single out, fine fine, listening, my particular favorite is "The Box" both haunting and soothing.
Hooverphonic : A touch Portishead in premise, it's a little more jaunty yet dark sometimes in content.
Baby Fox : Terribley groovy trip hop, album A Normal Family, will be hard to tear out of your system.
Daft Punk : I am throwing this house band in here, with tracks like Around the World and Da Funk, album Homework is essential, makes cleaning a joy. (huh)
Aphex Twin : Richard D James, the Aphex Twin, named after his dead infant brother, apparently when his mother's (firstborn) son died, she was so overcome with grief, she named her next son Richard D James as well in memorium. This explains the tombstone with his name on the (quelle surprise) Richard D James album. Brilliant ambient, surely you've heard Girl/Boy Song, or current ep song, Come to Daddy.
The Crystal Method, absolutely fly album, Vegas is a must have.
DJ Shadow, Endtroducing............ If I was to pick one of these albums in order of needing to own, DJ Shadow would be the first I'd list.Metallica samples, finely woven in a la "The Numbers Song" using the main line from "Orion" excellent.
Tricky : groovy trip hop, Tricky's diggy the raspy voice over good hooks, if you dig, Massive Attack is also for you.
