John    Lennon

John Winston Lennon was born October 9, 1940 in Liverpool, England,
to Julia Stanley, a wild, free spirited redhead, and Alfred (Freddie)
Lennon, a down-to-earth want-to-be-actor. His father was a cook on a
ship when John was born, and didn't come back to Liverpool until John
was four. At that point he tried to convince John to come with him to
sail the Atlantic Ocean. John decided to stay in Liverpool with his
mother, but she soon gave him over to her sister, Mary Elizabeth Smith
(Mimi), and Mimi's husband, George Smith. Mimi was very strict, but
John had his mother's rebellious spirit, wich could not be affected by
Mimi's ways. John was the wildest child at school, and was rebellious
from the first day.
In tine, rock and roll started coming out. John loved it. He would
go to his mother's house with his friends and listen to it all day. In
time he asked his Aunt Mimi to buy him a guitar, pestering her until
she gave in and bought him one, still insisting: "The guitar's alright
for a hobby, John, but you'll never make a living out of it". John
certianly proved her wrong. In 1957 he formed a skiffle group called
"The Quarry Men" because all the members went to Quarrybank Grammar
School. The band later changed it's name to "The Beatles".

Richard Starkey was born on July 7, 1940, in Liverpool, England,
this making him the oldest Beatle. Although Ritchie was a cheerful as
a child, his childhood was filled with hospital time, starting when he
was 6 because of appendicitis, then pleurisy at 13, causing him to
miss much school. By 15 he could barely read and write.
Ritchie joined "Rory Storm and the Hurricanes" when he was around 18
at that point he changed his name to Ringo Starr.
Ringo met the Beatles in 1960, and joined the group in 1962, when
the Beatles started becoming dissatisfied with their old drummer, Pete
Best. Even though Rory Storm was very upset about his drummer joining
the Beatles, so were the Beatle fans. On Ringo's first day preforming
with the Beatles, the audience were all shouting things like: "Ringo,
never. Pete Best forever!". But it did not discourage Ringo. He stayed
with the Beatles to the end.

making him the youngest Beatle. He was also the youngest of his family
of two brothers, Harold Jr. and Peter, and a sister named Louise. His
father, Harold, was a bus driver, his mother a housewife, who all the
children in the neighborhood knew and liked.
George and Paul took the same bus to school, and soon found out that
they had two interests in common; music and guitars. George taught
himself the guitar, and later he and and his brother, Peter, formed a
skiffle band, but they had to sneak out of the house to play at their
first preformance. Paul introduced George to John when George was 14
years old, and John let him join the band.

John's group, The Quarrymen, preforming in Woolton. After the preform-
ance Paul and John were introduced to each other when Paul was playing
