Welcome to our petland. We have several different kinds of animals, everything from reptiles to amphibians to semi-rodents. We have two leopard geckoes named Peanut and Robert who like to "get it on" alot. Emma, our fantailed goldfish, just died this summer. Our African frogs are very much alive and chase our guppies around their tank all day long. Nietzsche is an albino and Dostoyevsky is a regular spotted African frog. The guinea pigs have all been rescued from an animal shelter. Emer and Cuchulainn were previously at the Animal Rescue League in Boston and we adopted them this past winter. They had been taken care of by a three year old little girl who didn't know shit about 'pigs. Emer was the favored piggy while Cuchulainn was ignored all the time because she has a tendency to go nuts. They have both become very spoiled living with us and their personalities have completely changed. Medbie is our third guinea pig. She was taken from her mother when she was three weeks old and we adopted her soon after. Emer and Cuchulainn are "wild" guinea pigs and are very different from Medbie who is a domesticated pig. Emer and Cuchulain are bigger and chubbier and they have big brown eyes. Medbie is smaller, stupider, and has crossed red eyes which distort her vision and causes her to fall off tables. When we got her, Medbie was only skin and bones but she has put on some weight since she has been with us. Cuchulainn just came out of surgery. She had a cyst on the left side of her mouth. After fighting with the vet and Paul, she came out of it okay. To keep Cuchulain from going "pig shit", Paul had to bring Emer to the clinic with her because they cannot live without each other. Cuchulain is A OK now. In fact, she is a lot more calm. Well, that's it for the zoo...
Unfortunately, since Paul put this up, our Cuchulainn died. She died on September 26. Last week, we rescued three baby guinea pigs named Lubov, Medved, and Mish. No to mention that over a month ago, we got our fourth pig Deirdra. Deirdra is a beautiful white pig and a long hair Peruvian. She has become the surrogate mother to the three little ones although they don't let her sleep. So, we now have 6 guinea pigs although we lost one. One other addition worth mentioning is Andrea. We managed to get a third leopard gecko. Andrea is just a baby and we are goin to put her in with Peanut and Robert once she is a little bit bigger.
