Beth sighed. 'Only one more minute till spring break!' she thought happily. Beth, her family, and her cousin Ami were going to Myrtle Beach for 2 weeks over spring break. She had been waiting a whole year for it. She stared, intently on the clock. '5...4..' she thought. RIIINNGGG!!! Everyone took off down the hall, barley hearing Mrs. Pommerening yelling "Have a nice vacation!". Beth tore down the hall, giving passing-by friends high fives or hugs. She spotted her friend Melissa, and called out to her. "I can't believe I'm going to South Carolina!" she cried. "Hey- if you see Zac Hanson, send him my love!" Melissa replied. They both giggled. "Oh sure, like he would really be there. Or any of them for that matter. But I have to ask you one thing.." Beth said. "What?" Melissa asked. "Well....my mom said...YOU CAN COME TO CAROLINA WITH US!!!!!!" *****Author's note: okay, I know this would like, never happen because either of our moms would never agree to it, but It's a story, come on***** "You are not serious!" Melissa yelled. "I sure am. Let's walk to your house. Mary can get a ride with Stacey Brown. Any remember kids...." she said in an announcer-like voice,"to get your parent's permission before going to Myrtle Beach." They walked out the back door by the gym, and raced to Melissa's house. "Mom!!!!!" Melissa yelled, running from room to room. "What Melissa?" Kathe yelled from upstairs. "Come down here, please! We need to talk to you." Beth dialed her phone number. "Mom?" she said,"Kathy is gonna talk to you, k? Kathe, please talk to my mom Kathy, if you wish to find out what Melissa is yelling about." Kathe (Melissa's mom) raised an eyebrow and got on the phone with Kathy (Beth's mom). The two teens ran upstairs and went into Melissa's room. They put "Middle of Nowhere" blasting on the stereo, and sat down to talk. "I wonder if I'll be allowed to go." Melissa wondered out loud. "I dunno, but let's go downstairs and see." Beth replied. They headed downstairs and Kathe was just putting down the phone. "Melissa, I talked with Beth's mom, and I guess you can go. Promise me you will not go off by yourself, even if you see Zac Hanson going in the opposite direction." Kathe said, with a hint of a smile. "Okay, I understand the going off by myself part, and I wouldn't even do that in the first place. But, if Zac was going in the other direction, I would misplace my judgement." Beth giggled, but Kathe replied, "I don't care if Zac Hanson was the queen of the nile, stay with the Theobalds!" she playfully yelled. "Okay!okay! geez." Melissa cried. "Well, Beth better help you pack quick because her mom's coming in about 15 minutes. The girls looked at each other and raced upstairs, Kathe laughing. *** "Okay, I pretty much have everything packed. I also have brought a poster of hanson, and of course all my CDS." Melissa concluded, as she packed away the last of her things. They heard a car beep and Melissa's dogs, Pitree and Jenny, started barking. "Guess my mom's here. C'mon, Melissa, I'll help you with your stuff." Beth said. On the way out the door Kathe gave Melissa some money, and a hug. "I'll see you guys later! Bye!" she yelled. "Bye!" they both replied, and stepped into the Theobald's welcoming van. *** "MELISSA!!!!" Mary screamed, and rushed over to hug her friend. "MARY!" Melissa screamed in return, and they both hugged each other, giggling. "Mrs. Theobald, and I gonna be stuck between these two twins all the way to South Carolina?" Melissa whined. *** AUTHOR'S NOTE- Yes, in real life, Me and Mary are twins. Bet cha didn't know that. :o)*** "Not that I know of. Mary is probably going to sit next to Ami on the way there." Kathy (now this is Kathy Theobald) replied. "That's cool." Melissa said, just as Beth and Mary's dad came in the door. "Okay! Everybody put your stuff in the car! We're heading out!" he shouted, trying to be heard over the sound of an "mmmbop" on the stereo. Melissa, Beth, Ami, and Mary smiled to themselves as they drove out the the driveway to the airport, knowing they were going to have a blast at Myrtle Beach.
