Me standing by the old Yellow Hammer well 8-1996 The old Yellow Hammer school used to be just West of the old well. Not too far from where I am standing. I was so happy to find this place. I had heard my daddy, relatives and old timers talk of it many times.This was a great day! :)

Old road to Yellow Hammer This is the old road going South from Persimmon Ridge road to old Yellow Hammer school site. It is located in the WildLife Game Refuge in the South part and is only open a few months of the year. This was in August when it was open. The gate to go in there, is just South of Greenleaf Bridge. (The old bridge the WPA built in the 30's)

This is where an old bridge used to go across a small creek near the old school. If you look closely you can see the rocks on each side. The brown you see is the dry creek bed, as this was in August and no water in it this time of year. See the old well next page... Next for more of Yellow Hammer well
