Brief Overview:

I.S. is an acronym for International Studies.  International Studies is a special education program available only to students at Independence High School.   It began in 1989 with 90 students in the 10th grade and has sense grown to hundreds of students in the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades.  As the name implies the I.S. program has a major emphises on foreign culture.  Often the I.S. students travel on exchange programs and welcome exchange students into their homes.  The International Studies Coordinator is Anna Wilbanks.  For more information on this program contact the school.
