Asparagus Vinaigrette

Makes 4 servings

24 asparagus spears, trimmed
1 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil
3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1 garlic clove, minced
2 tablespoons minced red onion
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1. Fill large saucepan with 1" water; set steamer rack in saucepan. Place asparagus on rack. Bring water to a boil; reduce heat to low. Steam asparagus over simmering water, covered, until tender.

2. Meanwhile, in small bowl, combine vinegar, onion, oil, garlic and pepper.

3. Transfer asparagus to medium decorative platter; top with vinegar mixture.
