Life

The moon breathes another day,
but not for me, nor humanity.
We are pushed away, outside our world.
With reason and logic, we are made to serve.
My humility is never made to be free.
On my knees I bleed, hanging from the tree.
Whoever said life isn't fair?
I could give you all the love I could, and you'd still never even care.
Kill me, cause I can't do it myself.
Save me, I don't wanna drown.
Drain me, it's the way it all works out.
And you'd never rage me six feet in the ground.
Serve in all humility, crushed by humanity.
Broken hope and vanity.
The sounds of the footsteps pounding away.
In my sleep I swear, I scream.
Wake up sweating and crying and now I feel like dying, so just let me go, let me go.
Let me lay there.
Just let me die there.
Just let me say good-bye there.
