The Daughters of Malta were comprised of wives and friends of members of the Masonic Knights of Malta. According to a letter dated 29 May 1923, from a L. D. Woodington, "Sovereign Keeper of the Archives" of the Dames of Malta (1345 Arch St. Philadelphia, PA) this society consolidated with the Ladies of Malta forming the then known Dames of Malta, under a charter of the Ancient and Illustrious Order, Knights of Malta of Pennsylvania. The Dames of Malta, are still quite active in charitable work and the Order's activities.
