Trivia
All female voices heard in this film, with the exception of Lois Maxwell
as Miss Moneypenny, are dubbed by the same, uncredited, English actress.
Kevin McClory owned the rights to the novel by Ian Fleming, and wanted
Richard Burton to play James Bond. However, he could not find enough backing
for production until Albert R. Broccoli agreed, on the condition that Sean
Connery continue the role.
The title song was originally to be "Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang"
sung by Dionne Warwick , but was changed at the last minute to "Thunderball"
sung by Tom Jones.
The first 007 movie to be filmed in Panavision 2.35:1 scope.
Stuntman Bill Cumming was paid a $450 bonus to jump into Largo's shark
infested pool.
Intended to be the first 007 movie, but legal wrangles with its co-author
lead to Dr. No (1962) being chosen instead.
The many underwater scenes stem from writer Kevin McClory's interest
in watersports.
Claudine Auger was a former Miss France, but being French her voice
was dubbed.
Maurice Binder was back to design the main title sequence.
Thunderball theme He always runs while others walk,
He knows the meaning of success,
Any woman he wants he'll get
His days of asking are all gone,
Never Say Never Again
Sean Connery was lured back to the series for the seventh and
last time, and it is a treat to see him in action one last time
(unless you count The Rock!).
Sean is joined by Barbara Carera as Fatima Blush, Bernie
Casey as Felix, Max Von Sydow as Blofield, Klaus Maria
Brandauer as Largo, Edward Fox as 'M' and Kim Bassinger as
Domino.
Theme You walk in a room,
To get mixed up with a man who says never
Never, never say never again.
You've got all the moves.
To get it bad with a man who says never
I'll beg you.
Look up! Look down! Look out! Here comes the biggest Bond of all!
Trailer
In a bold and deadly scheme, the evil Spectre organization hijacks a NATO plane and seizes two atomic
warheads, each capable of killing millions of innocent people. As the world is held hostage by the threat
of a nuclear nightmare, Bond jumps into action, racing against the clock as the trail leads him to tropical
Nassau. There he meets Emilio Largo (Adolfo Celi), a high-ranking agent of Spectre, and the stunning Domino (Claudine
Auger), with whom he shares an irresistible attraction. The confrontation builds to an epic battle on the ocean floor, as Bond
and his allies fight to avert a catastrophe of immense proportions.
From 007's thrilling jet-pack flight to his heart-stopping clash with Largo's killer sharks, "Thunderball"
is a stupendous mixture of action, romance and edge-of-your-seat suspense.

Lyrics by Don Black
Sung by Tom Jones
He acts while other men just talk,
He looks at this world and wants it all,
So he strikes like Thunderball.
His needs are more so he gives less,
They call him the winner who takes all,
And he strikes like Thunderball.
He will break any heart without regret.
His fight goes on and on and on,
But he thinks that the fight is worth it all,
So he strikes like Thunderball.

Lyrics by Marilyn and Alan Bergman
Sung by Lani Hall.
A woman can feel the heat.
One look is a guarantee
Nights could be long and sweet.
The message is clear
Like nothing I've ever known.
But the more that I hear,
Forget about long-range plans
'Cause this man's got his own.
May be big trouble, but then
I just could be the woman to take you
And make you never say never again.
Never, never say never again.
Never, never say never again.
Never, never say never again.
Ah, but baby I've got them too.
No matter your attitude or your mood
I'll come through.
The touch of your voice.
The feel of your eyes on me.
You leave me no choice.
Though I know there's danger there
I don't care, let it be.
May have no future, but then
I just could be the woman to reach you
And teach you to never say never again.
I'll get you.
I'll reach you.
I'll teach you.
I'll take you.
I'll make you.
