5 YEARS OF OUR "BSOGA"
AND NEXT--
Dear Members:
On behalf of the Brahmin Samaj of Georgia, Inc. (BSOGA), I would like to
wish all of you a happy and prosperous New Year. 202 will be a far better
and prosperous year than all the past years. BSOGA has come a long
way in five years. It was a small start with a handful of Brahmins,
who wished and envisioned of bringing the community together on religious,
spiritual and respectful ways. Today we have grown to 135 families and
have extended our family affiliation with New York, New Jersey, Chicago, Tampa,
Toronto, and Boston. We have continuously celebrated the four vital
events i.e. Shiv Ratri, Overnight Camping, Picnic/Balev and Diwali every
year since the last three years we have had all Brahmin Convention too. BSOGA
gets the credits and admiration for initiating that event. We also
have achieved Federal Tax Exempt status (501(C)(3) and have been listed on
Georgia State Guide star non-profit charity organization list." Charity
given to BSOGA could grant maximum tax benefit to donors. BSOGA is
currently in process to set up foundation for scholarship for Brahmin
children. BSOGA is in process to receive the chartered membership into
the Georgia Cremation Society. Our affiliated Brahmin associations have
also recommended us to take leadership in forming Federation of Brahmin Samaj.
We have been requested to name a volunteer in the State run Medicare
and Medicaid committees. We are also been requested by Churches
and Funeral homes to provide correct process and methods for performing rituals
and rites for Hindus. These have proved that Brahmins are united, recognized,
respected, strong and striving for common goals to excel in all facets and
directions. We will serve Brahmins and offer benefits to all other
Indians. God willing we will do exactly that. These achievements
are the results of your continued support and affection for Brahmins.
Thank you. In fact a BIG THANK YOU!!
Can you believe BSOGA is 5 years old, as one gets older time does seem to
speed up. this year let our resolution be broader in scope and more
community minded. May be we could actually make a difference, if we
follow same set of resolutions. The resolutions that I came up with
follow: Feel free to embrace them as your own.
1. Be even kinder to
others.
2. Participate in a charitable
cause/event, or two or three...
3. Smile and laugh more often.
4. Revive the art of letter writing
and send letters to your friends and family.
5 Work harder but play more.
6. Do something special for someone
else as often as you can.
7. Tell and show those you love
how much you really love them: meetings are great.
8. Share your knowledge and skill
with someone else. You both win.
9. Indulge in at least one personal
passion every day. Even for a few minutes. You will be a happier
person.
10. Be the driver not a passenger,
of your life.
Let's look forward to a bright
and more rewarding future as we all kick off the New Year and new era for
BSOGA. All it takes right attitude and a lot of resolve.
Happy New Year from all
the Board and Executive Members of BSOGA.
With warm regards and wishes.
