Introduction

"I'm not gonna waste the perfect comeback on you now. But don't think I don't have it. Oh yes, it's time will come!"

Salutations, here comes issue #10! Buffy fans get ready, the long stint of reruns are now over. On Tuesday, a brand new episode will air. The new Episode will be entitled "Choices", and will be the 1st of the 5 final episodes of this season. These episodes will all be leading to the climatic graduation season finale.

Thanks to Digital City Boston, I saw a special screening of Seth Green's Idle Hands on Tuesday. What was it? In short, it's stupid teen horror/comedy. The previews and its all-star cast was encouraging. But, it has absolutely no plotline-- nothing makes sense. If you're up for a few good laughs and want to see Oz as a dead guy with a bottle sticking through his head, go see it!

I'm learning more about the Buffy episode "Earshot" that was pulled from last week's schedule due to the tragedy in Littleton, Colorado. It has been officially confirmed that no networks aired the "Earshot" episode. The WB, YTV and various other local affiliates took part in canceling the episode entirely. In "Earshot" Buffy acquires the ability to read people's minds and overhears students planning a mass murder at Sunnydale High. The WB pulled this episode due to its specific plot line. Should this episode have been cancelled? From your reaction to the poll, many of you unfortunately disagreed with the WB's decision. I support the idea of not showing the episode, because it shows respect for the victims and their family and friends. I would have felt uncomfortable when watching the episode, so I would say the WB has made a very wise decision. Sources say the episode will be shown some time later in the season but no airdate is set.

Over 50 of you shared your thoughts on the situation. Voting will continue and we will post all the votes shortly. One voter said, "YES! I'm saying the following both as a dedicated Buffy watcher as well as a person who used to live in Littleton, CO... I can understand the networks decision to pull the episode. It would be somewhat disrespectful to the family, friends, and surrounding community to show such an episode of a nightmare come true. I know that if such a thing happened in my school, I would turn on the television in attempt to distract my thoughts from the recent events, and be quite horrified only to find a fictitious version of the violence plaguing my community. I commend the network for their sensitivity and am sure they will reward us with a showing of the episode at a more appropriate date."

Another voter said, "NO! Pulling the episode is just showing the killers that they are getting attention. Buffy saves the day and it's fictional. Television is not the influence. If necessary, parents should just watch their kids more closely. I've been waiting far too long for an all-new episode."

An unsure voter stated, "I DON'T KNOW! I understand the WB's decision, but I don't know if I completely agree with it. In terms of respect for what has happened-- I think that it would be insensitive to air this episode. On the other hand, I think it would have been smarter to air the episode at its original time, but include some sort of message in the beginning: "Due to recent events extreme discretion is advised. The show in no way condones violence... Violence is never the right choice. If you ever need someone to talk to, call the following number..." You get my point. They could have aired the episode and included a message that was sensitive and educational."

Sneak Peek at the Next "Buffy"

With all the demon-fighting to be done, it looks like Buffy may never make it to college. She's got her hands full in the School of Hard Knocks, launching an all-out offensive against the mayor and Faith and their plan for "Ascension." With universities courting her left and right, Willow has a tough time deciding hich campus is the one for her. Xander prepares to hit the road for a Kerouac-inspired adventure. While Buffy is happy for the great things happening to everyone else, she's growing lonelier by the minute. Even Angel is no solace -- their life together is one impossible challenge after another.

Review of Last "Buffy"

Buffy and Faith bond over their ass-kicking powers by shoplifting weapons, dusting sword-wielding vamps and dancing till dawn at the Bronze. Buffy is drawn to the dark side, but Faith seems to have taken up permanent residence there. Her increasing lust for violence comes to a head when she stakes an innocent civilian in a hot-and-heavy alley fight. Buffy is horrified when Faith dumps the body and convinces her to help cover it up from Giles and the ever-annoying Wesley. The mayor sees this as his chance to hang a slayer-- it doesn't matter which one. Buffy may have electrocuted the oozing red-eyed demon blob Balthazar, but not before the mayor becomes invincible. When Buffy returns, the man's body is gone. she soon learns the awful truth-- that Faith has dumped the body and is covering up her evil deed.

OOPS!

In the first scene, when Buffy and Faith are fighting vamps in the cemetery, there is a big mound of dirt. We could not spot any open graves nearby, or any other obvious reason why this would be there.

When telling Wesley about the three vampires she and Faith killed in the first fight scene, Buffy says, "One of them had swords. I don't think he was with the other two." All three of the vampires were dressed in the same Eliminati uniform, so why would she think they weren't together?

In both the underground fight scene and the warehouse fight scene, there's some not-so-great editing with SMG and Sophia Crawford (her stunt double). It's fairly obvious that it's Sophia, especially if you pause on some of the facial shots.

Hot News

INSIDE INFO FROM "BUFFY"...David Boreanaz will soon have occasion to celebrate -- his birthday is coming up on May 16. That makes him a Taurus, sign of the bull. Taurus comes on strong at first but is romantic at heart. They're also creative in many ways and known for enduring faithfulness (Buffy would certainly agree with that). Every once in a blue moon, you catch them doing something sinfulyl slothful -- like vegging out watching TV.

SNL SARAH...Many people felt Sarah Michelle Gellar did a great job the last time she hosted SNL and maybe that is why she's been asked to host the final show of the season. The show will air May 15.

WILLOW ALLERT...Alyson Hanigan is exploring new ways to stir up prom night outside Sunnydale. She'll appear in the upcoming "American Pie," scheduled for release on May 28. The movie follows a group of high-school seniors who make a pact to lose their virginity by prom night. If you ever saw "Porky's," some say this movie is a '90s version of that classic use-it and lose-it tale.

DAY AND NIGHT...Sporting some wild blood-red locks on his head and tight leather pants, Seth Green appeared on "Rosie" and "Late Night With Conan O'Brien" this week. Seth admitted that the "nuttiest" thing about his celebrityhood is how many people want to party with him. He also revealed that he turns to arts and crafts in order to unwind. His mother is a crafts teacher, so Green said he learned from an early age that making something is a great way to relax. As for the red hair, Green said he's living out a punk rock fantasy of having wild hair-- and he's making a statement for society not to judge people by their appearance. Catch Seth in the upcoming Mike Myers comedy, "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me" (in theaters on June 11) and the horror-comedy "Idle Hands" (in theaters now). If you need more of the guy, Seth also does voices for the animated Fox show, "Family Guy."
