                       Reikai Tantei Kit
(Songfic to -Koori No Naifu O Daite-)

The Makai was dark, fogs were as thick as rain clouds. Botan
blinked a few times to adjust her eyes to the dim light. She looked up
to the dark sky and frowned. :… It’ll be just a matter of moments till
the sky gets totally dark, I’ll have to be fast …: she thought to
herself.

Hiei. She had to find Hiei. She had lost the Reikai Tantei kit.
Not only she had to rely on her insensitive senses to find that fire
demon, she would then have to find a way to coax him to help her find
the stuff.

Botan bit her lips as she flew into Mukuro’s territory. She smiled
to herself as she saw Hiei coming out from the big palace. "Hiei! Here!"
she hollered, waving an anxious hand at the puzzled youkai.

Hiei stopped at his steps and frowned. What the hell did that
noisy ferry girl wanted with him? Botan landed noisily in front of Hiei
and jumped off her oar.

"Hiei," she began. "What?" asked the fire demon annoyingly. "Well,
I need your help. But don’t tell Koenma about this," she tried to make a
deal with the unreasonable fire demon. Hiei narrowed his eyes. Botan
smiled, as sweetly as she knew. Then, knowing that it won’t make any effect
on the stoical fire demon, she stop grinning and concentrated on the matter
at hand.

She pursed her lips and started. "I need your help to find the
Reikai Tantei Kit," she blurted. Hiei blinked. "Why?" he asked, dryly.
"I lost it," she grinned. Hiei rolled his eyes. "Find it yourself then!
I have lots of work to do!" he snapped, starting to walk away.

Botan rushed forward and knelt, wrapping her delicate hands around
Hiei's slender muscled legs. "Please Hiei, I need to find it. Enma Diaoh
would be coming back soon and when he knew that I lost that thing, I’ll
be sentenced to death," she pleaded. "Onegai…," she sniffed.

Botan was crying. Hiei didn’t knew what to do. Even if it was
Kurama who was crying he would just wait until it goes off. Maybe he
would kiss it away. But Botan? Hahaha… fat chance.

"Oi, get up," snorted Hiei. Botan straightened up and blinked.
"So, this means you agree to help me?" she asked. Hiei sighed. "Where
did you lost it?" he asked. Botan frowned in thoughts. "I think in
Ningenkai. I can’t find it anywhere in Reikai," she told the fire demon.
"I’ll have to ask Mukuro for a leave first," he stated. Botan nodded and
followed Hiei in the big palace.

As soon as the door was open they could hear a woman shouting.
"SHOES! TAKE IT OFF!" stunned, Botan nearly fell backwards. Hiei left
his shoes by the door and walked on the red carpet. Botan followed suit
and bowed before Mukuro. When she saw Hiei bow and knelt, she too
followed what he did.

Mukuro frowned at Hiei. "What now?" she asked. "I request to be
excused for the day," Hiei told her calmly. Mukuro chewed her lips. "For
what?" she asked, curious. Hiei thought hard. "I have to go to
Ningenkai," he told her, flat. Mukuro’s eyes widened. "What, it’s just
been 2 weeks. And you can’t control your erection already?" commented
Mukuro and let out a sigh. Botan was trying hard to contain her laugh.

Hiei just stoned himself. Mukuro smiled upon teasing her heir.
"Okay, you can go. I’ll give you two weeks," she announced. "Hell, now I
won’t have time to sleep," she blurted out funnily.

"Doumo," uttered Hiei quietly and turned around, heading for the
door. As he and Botan were outside the Palace, he turned to face the
taller ferry girl. "You owe me a lot. I don’t like to be made fun like
that," he noted, gritting his teeth and turned around to continue
walking.

Botan blinked and smiled. That joke was one funny joke Mukuro
made, she didn’t knew that the Makai Lord was able to tease Hiei like
that. Without getting scorched, that is. But who was she kidding?
Mukuro, right? She could kill Hiei without even blinking! Surely she
would dare to make a joke like that. Botan shook her head and ran after
the fuming youkai, catching up behind him.

        They entered Ningenkai…

Both were standing on a high tower in Tokyo. Just as Hiei snatched
off the headband covering his Jagan, Botan’s watch made noise. Hiei
sighed. "What’s that?" he asked irritatingly. Botan bit her lips. "It’s
Koenma. He needed to see us in the park," she told Hiei. Hiei smirked.
"So it looks like you’ll have to wait," said Hiei.

Botan nodded her head. "I suppose so," she said softly. Hiei was
tying back his headband when Botan held his arm. "Can you keep this as a
secret?" she asked. Hiei looked at her, pulled off his arm and flitted
away. Botan hopped on her oar and caught up with Hiei's speed.

"Race you there!" she shouted and sped off. Hiei snorted and
picked up speed himself.

Yuusuke and Kuwabara who were happening to be there in the park,
hollered at Kurama. "Yo, Kurama! Koko ni iru yo!" they shouted, waving
at him. Kurama smiled and jogged his way there. Soon, Koenma landed in a
puff of smoke. He was in his teenage human form. Sucking furiously on
his Fukumen, he looked around. "Where is Botan? I couldn’t find her
since this morning!" he complained.

Suddenly, Hiei and Botan appeared at the same time. Hiei landed
gracefully on the ground followed by Botan whose oar went crushing to
the ground. "I win," Hiei snickered. Botan straightened herself and
dusted her dirty kimono. "No fair, you had a head start," she retorted.
"Oh, you were the one who wanted to race," he snorted.

Kurama narrowed his eyes. Hiei was playing racing with Botan? Now,
he had never played that kind of game with him. He bit his lips and
tried to hide his broken heart.

 	Kurama was jealous…

Koenma looked at the blue haired ferry girl. "Where have you
been?" asked Koenma. Botan blinked. "Er… em…," Hiei sighed. "She was
with me the whole day," Hiei backed her up. Kurama felt like being
crushed under the ruins of Tokyo tower. :… Wasn’t he suppose to work
with Mukuro? Why was he spending the day with Botan? …: Kurama bit his
lips.

Mukuro was one thing, but Botan?

Koenma sighed. "Next time, tell the Reikai office. You seemed to
be wandering off a lot this few weeks," noted Koenma. Botan nodded.
Kurama looked at her with death in his eyes. Hiei too went off to Makai
two weeks ago. Did he spend time a lot with Botan? Who knows? They might
be having picnics over there which Kurama didn’t knew about…

Kurama’s thoughts were interrupted by Yuusuke’s elbow, lightly
nudged into his stomach. "Oi, you okay?" he asked. Kurama smiled wearily
and nodded.

He didn’t even heard what Koenma told them. All he heard was just
"… Then my father would come back and have a big fuss …" what fuss, he
didn’t know and he didn’t feel like asking.

The thought of Hiei, spending a lot of time with another girl made
him want to cry…

For all he know, suddenly Koenma disappeared. Yuusuke and Kuwabara
head their own way and Kurama was startled out of his thoughts again as
Hiei said good bye to him. "Bye Kurama," he said and walked away with…
Botan? He turned to look at another side, Yuusuke and Kuwabara were
laughing at something. He caught up with them and asked.

"Weren’t we suppose to do something?" he asked. Yuusuke frowned.
"Don’t need to hurry Kurama, it’s next week," said Yuusuke and put an
arm over Kurama’s higher shoulder. He was still lost, but he didn’t feel
like asking anymore.

He turned his head and saw Hiei and Botan disappeared together
outside the park. :… "Bye Kurama…" …: that phrase kept ringing in his
brains on and on. "Where’s Hiei and Botan going?" he asked. Yuusuke and
Kuwabara looked behind them. They shrugged.

"Don’t worry about them, lets have fun," they said, practically
pulling Kurama along with them.

 	Next day…

Shuuichi Minamino went to school as usual and was in a VERY bad
mood. This morning he had unconsciously snap at his mother for no good
reason. Shiori had just sighed and thought it as an exam stress or
something like that.

As he entered the school, he faced everyone with death looks that
anyone who wanted to say ‘good morning’ to him cancelled their thoughts.

In biology class, he had accidentally channelled his youki
through a plant they were having an experiment on. Resulting in a fast
growing vine that soon surrounded the lab. The teacher looked at Kurama
and blinked. "What have you done to it, Minamino?" he asked, softly.
Kurama lifted up the syringe that contained the chemical and shrugged.
"How should I know what happened to this stupid plant! I just injected
this dumb chemical in it," he told the sensei, quiet harshly.

The sensei widened his eyes at his favourite student which had
suddenly turned into someone he didn’t knew. "Minamino…," he started.
Kurama bit his lips and slammed he syringe on the table, breaking it
into two and ran out of the lab, crying.

Everyone in the class was whispering to each other, making
assumptions about the beautiful redhead. The teacher shrugged. "Never
mind," he uttered and he called the lab assistant to pull off the Makai
plants off the walls.

"Should I go and see if he’s alright, sensei?" asked a boy who’s
in the same experiment group with him. The sensei shook his head. "Must
be something at home. Don’t worry, he’s a bright kid. He could figure it
out himself. I think he just needs time alone, that’s all," said the
sensei and continued his class.

Hiei and Botan were still looking for that damn thing. "I can’t
sense it," complained Hiei. Then he felt something poking on his arm. He
closed his Jagan and glared at Botan. "Why are you poking at me for?" he
demanded. Botan looked up at him and grinned. "Haha! Nothing. Just for
fun," she uttered.

Hiei gritted his teeth and tied back the headband to his forehead.
"I’m hungry. I’ll meet you around here in 10 minutes," he said and
disappeared. Botan shrugged and jumped down the tower, looking for the
Reikai Tantei Kit herself for the time being.

Hiei pulled off his headband and tried scanning the place again.
As he turned his head to another angle, he found something that has
quite a number of reiki in it. He got curious and forgotten about his
hungry stomach and headed to it’s way.

Buried under a pile of small trees and dirt, laid a suitcase that
has a small qi badge on it. He snorted. That bloody suitcase was here
all the time and Botan was pointing in the opposite direction. :… Botan
no bakayaro …: he mumbled.

After stealing sweet snow, Hiei headed back up on the tower
slowly, enjoying the warm sun against his skin. Since he was wearing a
ningen attire today, it won’t be too weird to find a boy carrying a
suitcase enjoying ice-cream.

School was over. Kurama had headed straight to the park to cool of
his mind. It was damned jumbled up with thoughts. Suddenly he felt a
dark youki and saw a familiar figure. :… Hiei… enjoying ice-cream? …:
wondered Kurama mentally. As curious as his youko self, he started to
follow Hiei from behind. Covering up his qi totally, so Hiei won’t sense
him. He wanted to know what was he up to this few weeks that he didn’t
even stop by to see him.

Hiei ran up the tower and nearly dropped his ice-cream. Botan
turned and laughed at Hiei. "You’re eating ice-cream! Haha… kawaii," she
giggled. Hiei didn’t knew what to think. Was that ‘cute’ word suppose to
be an insult or a compliment.

"Shut up, I found this for you already," he noted and put down the
suitcase. Botan went down on her knees and opened it up. All complete.
"Ano… doumo arigatou gozaimasu, Hiei!" she exclaimed and hugged the fire
demon.

"Get your filthy hands off me, onna no baka," he snorted. Botan
blushed and picked up the suitcase.

Kurama picked this instant to reach the top and hide behind a
pole. He peeped and saw Botan rearrange her kimono in front of Hiei.
Kurama pulled back and thought for a while. :… What were they doing? …:
he thought suspiciously.

"Do you want to go back to Makai? We can walk to the gates
together," she offered. Hiei snorted. "I still have 12 days to raise my
youki. Why would I want to go now when I had been drained by you?"
reasoned Hiei.

:… Drained? Did Hiei and Botan actually have… No! this couldn’t
be! …: Kurama nearly cried aloud.

"Okay then, bye-bye Hiei!" she said happily and flew off with her
oar. Hiei snorted and turned away to walk back down the tower.

Kurama couldn’t take this anymore. His lover was playing fraud
behind him. How could he? Kurama ran down the fleet of stairs without
even touching the ground. He just wanted to run away.

When Hiei reached the ground, he wondered where else to go. No,
certainly not back to Makai yet. Mukuro would tease him like hell if he
did come back this early with this amount of youki left in him.

:… Another stupid woman …: he snorted. He looked around the shady
park and smirked as he saw a boy sitting under a tree. A boy who he knew
very well. With a big heart, he walked over to the redhead who had his
face buried in his hands.

But that small smile on his lips turned to a frowned as he
realised something. The redhead was crying. His fox was crying. :… Who
the hell dare to make my fox cry, should pay with a slow and painful
death …: he insisted and walked over.

Crouching beside his kitsune, he greeted him. "Kurama…," he
started. Kurama knew who had come to him and felt like tearing him into
pieces. Hiei started to touch Kurama’s arm.

Kurama pulled away from Hiei. Hiei blinked. "Dooshite, Kurama?"
asked Hiei. Kurama continued sobbing and sniffing and finally stood up.
He didn’t even look at Hiei and walked away, gaining pace and he finally
ran home. Hiei was left staring at his crying fox, puzzled. He sighed
confusedly and picked up his fox’s bag which he ha left under the tree.

When Kurama reached his house, Yuusuke and Kuwabara were already
waiting at his door. Waving at him with happy faces. They were planning
to ask him out for lunch. :… Oh man… now I have to deal with them …:
sighed Kurama as he rubbed his eyes with the back of his hand.

Trying hard to suppress the sobs and tears, he approached them.
Yuusuke and Kuwabara run towards him with worried faces. "Kurama, what
happened?" asked Kuwabara, placing a hand on Kurama’s shoulder. Kurama
shook his head.

"Kurama, you can tell us," said Yuusuke, brushing back a strand of
red hair away from his tear struck face behind his ears. Kurama bit his
lips and hugged them, tears flowing more freely. Both stunned Yuusuke
and Kuwabara patted his back lightly and soothingly. "What happened,
Kurama?" asked Kuwabara, brushing his hair.

"Hiei… Hiei left me… for another…," Kurama couldn’t finish his

do to you?" asked Kuwabara. How dare that little shrimp hurt Kurama, he
had treated Kurama as his own brother and would protect him whatever it
takes. Because he knew that Kurama would do the same.

Yuusuke sighed in between them. "Come Kurama, let’s go have lunch
and we can talk this over. Okay?" suggested Yuusuke. Kurama nodded and
sniffed one last time on Kuwabara’s broad shoulder.

        Meanwhile…

Hiei jumped from tree to tree until he reached Genkai’s temple. He
looked around the garden and couldn’t find Yukina outside. This means he
would have to go inside.

He knocked on the sliding door carefully. "Coming…," said rattled
old voice behind it. Obviously Genkai’s voice. She opened it and smiled.
"Hiei-kun…," she uttered. "Ohairi," she greeted him in. Hiei nodded once
and walked in the room.

She smiled at him. "You seemed troubled," she informed him,
placing a cup of steaming warm tea in front of him. Hiei kept silent.
Genkai smiled, she knew she couldn’t get this boy to talk to her. "I’ll
go get Yukina," she said and left the room.

Moments later, the door slide open again. A young girl with icy
blue-green hair accompanied by her warm scarlet eyes entered the dimly
lighted room. "Hiei-san," she smiled and sat in front of Hiei.

"Can I talk to you?" he asked. Yukina smiled. "Mochiron, Hiei-san.
Please do," she said. "It’s about Kurama," Hiei uttered. Yukina smiled,
wondering what kind of a fight had Hiei got with that beautiful fox
spirit.

"I think I had made him mad at me," Hiei told his sister. Yukina
blinked. "Why?" she asked. Hiei shrugged. He told her about him helping
Botan and all. "Oh, you were so nice to help her, Hiei-san," she smiled
sweetly.

"Well, after I gave her the suitcase I went down the tower and
walked to the park. I saw Kurama crying under the tree. I went to him
and greeted him, asking him what happened. He didn’t answer me, but just
ran away," Hiei told Yukina. Yukina blinked. "Maybe he misunderstood you
for having anything with Botan-chan?" she asked. Hiei shrugged. "I never
told him anything. But I did told Koenma that Botan was spending the day
with me once while we were having meeting," said Hiei.

Yukina took Hiei's hand and held it. "I think that’s where Kurama-
san started to get weird ideas," she said. Hiei shrugged. Yukina smiled.
"I’ll see what I can do," she promised her brother-at-heart.

 	Back to this side…

Kurama was busy crying. He was trying to tell Yuusuke and Kuwabara
what had happened and finally succeeded in doing so after a few
repetitions.

"Hiei? Having sex with Botan on top of Tokyo tower? I didn’t knew
she could have sex?" asked Kuwabara aloud. Everyone was looking at him.
He flushed and hid his face with his hand.

"I dunno… but I saw them. Botan was rearranging her kimono and was
offering Hiei a ride to the Makai gate. And Hiei was complaining about
how drained he was by her," said Kurama. Yuusuke frowned. "That little
no good son of a bitch!" Yuusuke cracked his knuckles. "Don’t worry
Kurama, we’ll try and keep him away from you and Botan. We promise,"
said Yuusuke. Kuwabara nodded eagerly.

Kuwabara took a tissue and gently brushed away his friend’s tears.
:… Poor Kurama …: he thought. He stood up. "I’m going to tell Yukina to
ignore him too," with that he disappeared.

Yuusuke brought Kurama to a video game centre, trying to cheer him
up.

Upon reaching Genkai’s temple, Kuwabara skipped into the garden.
He then knocked a few times at the door and slid it open.

His happy face turned sour as he saw Hiei inside enjoying tea with
Yukina who was doing the same. "Ah… Kazuma-san! Come and have tea with
us," she offered and got up, reaching for an extra cup.

"Yukina, stay away from Hiei," he told her flat. Hiei glared at
Kuwabara with death threatening eyes. "And why is that?" he asked
irritatingly at Kuwabara. "You got Botan already. Don’t come and disturb
Yukina," he said, standing in between Hiei and Yukina.

"Kazuma-san, dooshite no?" asked Yukina, holding to Kuwabara’s
arm. "This little runt was having an affair with Botan. Good thing
‘someone’ saw it and no, he’s not taking you too," said Kuwabara. Hiei
stood up. "What’s this thing about me and that Botan?" demanded Hiei.

"‘Someone’ saw what you did with Botan on top of the Tokyo tower,"
said Kuwabara. At this time, Genkai entered with Botan. When Kuwabara
saw Botan he snickered. "You, how dare you do this to Kurama? What had
he done to you?" asked Kuwabara.

Botan raised both of her hand. "I didn’t do anything!" she
protested. "Oh, like you didn’t do ‘anything’ with Hiei?" snickered
Kuwabara. Botan looked at Hiei who was glaring at her. "Umm… I think
there’s a misunderstanding here," she chirped.

Hiei gritted his teeth. "I don’t have any affair with Botan!" he
insisted, starting to growl. Kuwabara remembered something and smiled.
"And why did Botan spend a lot of time with you?" he asked. "We did
not!" said Hiei. "You told Koenma that yesterday," snapped Kuwabara. "I
was helping her find the Reikai Tantei Kit!" informed Hiei.

Oh… yeah right. Hiei would ‘help’ someone to do something?"
snorted Kuwabara sarcastically. "He did! I lost the Reikai Tantei Kit
and had practically begged him to help me!" said Botan. Kuwabara
blinked. "Is it?" he asked.

Hiei walked over to Kuwabara. "Of course, you big oaf!" he
snapped.

Kuwabara laughed. "Well, you’ll have to tell that to Kurama then.
He’s very, very upset about this," said Kuwabara, pouting at the
irritated fire demon.

Kurama and Yuusuke came over to Genkai’s temple. Kurama was forced
to wear sunglasses as his eyes were puffy and red. "Maybe we could have
a meeting about ignoring that little runt. And Botan too! I can’t
imagine that she would do such a thing to you!" uttered Yuusuke,
obviously annoyed at the whole situation. Actually, Yuusuke brought
Kurama to Genkai’s Temple to calm him down with Genkai-baasan’s help.

For all they knew, everyone was in the big living room of Genkai’s
temple.

"Minna," greeted Yuusuke and paused as he saw Hiei. "Kisama…," he
hissed. Hiei threw his hands on the air and sighed. "Not again," he bit
his lips, he knew exactly what was happening now.

"Kurama! I didn’t have anything with Botan!" Hiei exclaimed and
stood up, he walked over to Kurama but was blocked by Yuusuke who made
Kurama stay behind him. "Ha… yeah… what’s Botan doing in Makai then,
spending time with you?" accused Yuusuke, poking Hiei's button nose.
Hiei let out a sigh.

Before Hiei or anyone else could do or say anything, Yuusuke took
off Kurama’s glasses and threw it on the table. "Look, Hiei. Look at his
eyes!" he shouted. Kurama lowered his head, concealing his red puffy
eyes with his red hair.

"I was trying to help her with… Argghh!!! You tell him!" Hiei
shouted at Botan. Botan pointed at herself. "Me?" she asked. "Yeah you!
you caused this whole damn thing to happen," snorted Hiei.

Botan walked over to Kurama. She blurted out everything about
loosing the Reikai Tantei Kit and how she had asked Hiei to help her
with it and Mukuro’s joke and all.

Kurama looked away from Botan and looked at Hiei. He was sitting
on a corner, one leg up to his chest with a very annoyed face. Kurama
turned and ran out the room, ashamed of himself.

"Umm… Hiei, I think you should go after him," suggested Yuusuke.
"Why should I? He’s the one who made up this mess," he snorted. "Hiei,
wake up! There’s a very upset, very beautiful fox whose very deeply in
love with you out there whose feeling very guilty about himself! Go!"
shouted Yuusuke.

Yukina move from behind Kuwabara and pushed Hiei gently out the
door. "Good Luck," she said and slid it behind her, leaving the koorime
outside. Obviously didn’t know what to do.

Genkai laughed. "Stupid silly love birds," she said and took out
the food she was preparing earlier. "Since all of us are here, let’s
eat!" she said and set the table.

Hiei bit his lips. :… Now what to do? …: he asked himself. :… Umm…
I’ll just say I’m sorry and go away …: he decided and approached the
redhead.

"Kurama…," Hiei called carefully. Kurama raised his face a bit
from his hand, but his face was still concealed by his long hair.
"Hiei," he replied. Before Hiei could say anything more, Kurama was
kneeling in front of him. His arms wrapped firmly around Hiei's waist.
Face buried deeply on Hiei's gut. "Gomen nasai," he uttered between
sobs. "How could I ask you to forgive me?" he asked the koorime.

Hiei blinked. Kurama took a deep breath and he could smell the
musky hint of Hiei's groin. "You did nothing wrong, Kurama. I should
have told you I was helping that stupid girl," said Hiei, lowering
himself.

Hiei forced Kurama to open his eyes and look at him. "Come on,
don’t cry. You’ll have big baggy eyes," said Hiei, trying a lame joke to
cheer Kurama up.

Kurama was too ashamed of himself to even look at Hiei. "I’m sorry
you were made fun by Mukuro like that," uttered Kurama. Hiei carved a
small smile. "Well… come to think of it, there’s some truth in those
words," he said. Kurama opened his eyes. "Honto ne?" he asked. Hiei poke
his nose.

"Why would I lie to my fox?" he asked, kissing his fox softly on
the lips.

After they broke their little cute kiss, Kurama smiled. He took
Hiei on both of his sides, under his arm and pushed him up in the air.
From far it looks like a boy who’s playing with his little brother or
something.

"Put me down, kitsune," snorted Hiei. Kurama took Hiei in his arms
and hugged him. "Ore wa Makai no ichiban ga takara," he whispered.

Saturday came around and it was the big Reikai Party. Kurama had
got an order to fetch Yomi. "Why didn’t I know about this?" asked Kurama
as he changed into youko form. Kuwabara looked at Kurama. "You knew, we
told you. You were just too occupied with other ‘stuffs’ to pay
attention," snorted the orange haired boy.

Youko Kurama sighed and went to Yomi’s palace. Yomi smiled.
"You’re early," he commented. "We don’t want to be late, do we?" replied
the silver fox. Yomi chuckled. "Your sense of humour always seems to
amuse me, friend," commented Yomi. He was wearing a nice deep purple
coloured suit.

Yomi looked at Youko Kurama and frowned. "You going like that?" he
asked the tall silver youko who was wearing loose clothing. Kurama
shrugged. "I forgot to get something for today," he admitted. Yomi
smiled and clapped his hands. A youkai servant came by.

Yomi told it to get Kurama a new pair of tuxedo and it came back
in five minutes. "Kurama-sama," it said, handing the pair of white
tuxedo to Kurama. "Go and change," told Yomi. Kurama nodded and uttered
thank you.

On the way to Reikai, Yomi held Kurama’s hand. "You have a date
already?" he asked, jokingly. Youko Kurama chuckled. "Haha… nope. But if
you want to be my date, I have to warn you. Don’t get jealous
afterwards. I might not hang around you much," he told the black haired
guy.

Yomi chuckled. "Then I’ll just watch you," he said as they reached
the Reikai Palace. Kurama took Yomi’s hand and guided him into the
palace.

The door opened and every pair of eyes were set on them. Two long
haired guys walked in. One with slick black hair and one with shimmering
silver hair.

"Yomi-sama has arrived," said an announcer. Applause were heard
and greetings were showered at the blind Makai Lord. As he walked by,
they all bowed at him. Youko Kurama guided him to the VIP section and
helped him sit along with Enma Diaoh and all the other high post
creatures.

"I’ll be somewhere around, Yomi," said Kurama and walked away.
Yomi nodded and held Kurama’s hand before he went away. "Doumo," he
uttered. Kurama smiled. "No sweat," he said and went off.

Youko Kurama was wearing a white tuxedo along with Kuwabara and
Yuusuke. Yuusuke still wasn’t back from fetching Raizen though.

In youko form, he had looked very handsome. Those long silvery
strands were so stunning under the lights. Living things from all sexes
and species were crowding over him.

Youko Kurama wasn’t as shy as Shuuichi. He’s happy-go-lucky and
would do anything he pleases, for one thing. He was busy talking and
flirting around those drooling fans. He then excused himself to go and
get a drink. "Umm… Kurama, if you’re wearing a tuxedo. What’s Hiei
wearing?" asked Kuwabara. Kurama shrugged. "I don’t know if he’s
coming," he told Kuwabara casually.

The door opened again and Keiko, Yukina, Shizuru, Atsuko and Botan
came in. "We’re here!" she exclaimed. Koenma ran to the door and greeted
them. "What took you so long?" he asked. Botan smiled. "Someone there
had to get a few bottles of beer," said Botan, pointing at Atsuko. "Hey,
what’s a party without liquor?" she chirped. "Atsuko-san, here we have
liquor from three worlds," he pointed at a corner where variety of
liquor were placed. "You don’t have to waste money and buy those beers,"
said Koenma. "Why didn’t you tell me earlier?" said Atsuko, running to
the other side with the beer bottles still in her hands. "Emm… is
Yuusuke here already?" asked Keiko.

"He’s not back from fetching Raizen yet," said Koenma. He gestured
them to go near Kuwabara while he made others comfortable.

Yuusuke was tapping his fingers on the table. "Are you ready yet,
Raizen?" he asked. :… Old bag of bones …: he snorted. He didn’t want to
be late for the party. Keiko might be shouting at him. Raizen came up to
Yuusuke and smirked. "Yeah sure," he uttered. His long blue hair was
neatly combed down.

"I can’t believe that you’re actually my ancestor! You’re so
slow," he muttered. Raizen snorted. "As if you’re so fast," he knocked
Yuusuke’s head. "Hey! I just combed my hair!" he complained. Raizen
sigh. "Why do I have such a noisy descendant?" he asked himself and
walked to the door.

When he felt like Yuusuke wasn’t walking behind him, he stopped and
turned. Yuusuke was busy combing his hair with a mirror in front of him.
"Yeah, and now look who’s slow?" snorted Raizen.

Yuusuke caught up easily with the Makai Lord and shut the door behind him.

Yuusuke arrived next. They didn’t came in hand in hand like Youko
Kurama and Yomi, but Yuusuke did open the door for Raizen. "Raizen-sama
has arrived," said the announcer. As Raizen walked in to the room, all
of the bowed at him. He replied with a tight nod and walked over to Enma
Diaoh who’s busy talking about what’s happening in life.

Raizen passed Yomi and lowered his head to whisper to him. "How’s
it going?" he asked. "Good… very pleasant," answered the blind Makai
Lord. Raizen smiled and walked over to his place.

"What took you so long?" asked Kuwabara, slapping Yuusuke’s butt.
"Hey, that old bag of bones was so slow. You should see him dress,"
Yuusuke complained, replaying on how much time had Raizen took to get
his attire.

"Ha, Only Mukuro’s not here yet," snorted Youko Kurama. "Someone
is actually later that Raizen?" pondered Yuusuke aloud. "Hey, its a
woman, they usually spend more time," laughed Kuwabara.

Mukuro walked down her big stairs and smiled at Hiei. Hiei was
wearing a black Tuxedo which fitted him nicely. He looked handsome and
cute at the same time.

"Ready?" she asked Hiei. "I was waiting for you from an hour ago,"
said Hiei. Mukuro smiled in her party dress. She opened her fan and
fanned herself leisurely. "Ja… now we can go," she said as she reached
to hold Hiei's arm.

"Would he be there too?" asked Mukuro. "He who?" asked Hiei. "Oh
don’t be dense, Hiei. You perfectly know who am I talking about,"
snorted Mukuro. A total contrast on her nice dress. "You mean Kurama?"
he asked. "Who else?" she rolled her eyes.

"He has a name, you know?" snorted Hiei, opening the door. Mukuro
pouted and Hiei saw it. Mukuro could sometimes be so childish. "Yeah,
maybe he’s there. He’s so happy about stupid parties," snorted Hiei.
"Well I like parties too!" said Mukuro.

"You’re a girl. It’s different," snorted Hiei. Mukuro smiled
slyly. "Are you admitting that he’s feminine?" asked Mukuro. Hiei was
silent. He knew if he kept talking, more comments would be told and he
would want to look nice and decent at the party. Rather than arriving
there scratched and cut or even burnt, together with and equally
scorched Makai Lord!

Imagine a messy Mukuro and Hiei entering the ballroom…

Then, the big ballroom opened. Everyone looked from the cracked
door from top to bottom. At the bottom, they found a koorime fire demon
entering the room.

Then Enma Diaoh laughed. "Ha… ha… that’s just our Reikai Tantei.
Resume…," he ordered the crowd to start having fun again.

Youko Kurama skipped towards the door and scooped Hiei up. Hiei
wrapped his legs around Youko Kurama’s waist and snickered. "You showed
up in this form?" he asked the silver fox. Kurama smiled. "Yeah, it’s
taller. I can see you easily like this," he joke. "Oh," Hiei was
offended.

He started nuzzling that koorime unaware that every pair of eyes
were on them. "Oh how much I miss you. You’re late," he muttered.
"Mukuro is taking her own damn sweet time to get dressed," snorted the
annoyed fire demon.

Mukuro then entered the room and snorted. "Oh you love birds, go
and play ‘lewd’ somewhere else," she told them. Kurama threw Mukuro a
playful flying kiss and walked away with his ‘date’.

All of the creatures there bowed at the beautiful Makai Lord. Her
blue bionic eye glittered against the light. She walked over to the
other VIPs who’s busy eating and chatting.

"Sit, sit Mukuro," said Enma Diaoh. "Doumo, Enma-sama," she said
and sat in between Yomi and Raizen. "You’re late," noted Yomi. "Well, a
lady has to do what a lady has to do," she said. "What, go to the
bathroom?" asked Raizen. All the others laughed. "Ha. Ha. Raizen,"
snorted Mukuro and sipped the violet liquid in the fine crystal glass.

Youko Kurama was still carrying Hiei in his arms, with Hiei
securely wrapping his legs around Youko Kurama’s waist as they went to
the others.

"Kurama-san. You look like you’re carrying your son!" commented
Keiko. "I told him to let me down," said Hiei, gritting his teeth. "I
don’t want to," said Youko Kurama stubbornly. He was drinking a cup of
punch water and gave it to Hiei.

Suddenly Yukina giggled. "Hiei-san, where’s your other shoe?" she
asked. Hiei looked behind Kurama and wriggled his toes. He gave her a
lopsided grin and chuckled. "I guess I dropped it," he told her
innocently. Youko Kurama smiled. "Ou… Hiei… kawaii," he sighed happily
and nuzzled the poor koorime’s nose.

"Oh please… I don’t remember Shuuichi doing that," said Kuwabara,
sitting on a chair. "It’s because, I’m not Shuuichi Minamino now. I’m
Youko Kurama now," he replied and put Hiei down. He dusted his little
body and straightened the crumples. "Thank you," he uttered.

"Hey Hiei, what was Mukuro doing so long?" asked Yuusuke. Hiei
shrugged and drank the balance of liquid that’s inside the cup Kurama
gave him. "How should I know, I didn’t watch her dress," snorted Hiei.

Keiko looked at Yuusuke. "And you were watching Raizen when he got
dressed?" asked Keiko. Yuusuke chuckled. "Hey! He’s a guy!" said Yuusuke
defending himself. "Kurama too was most probably watching Yomi dressed,"
accused Yuusuke, pointing at Youko Kurama. Hiei narrowed his eyes. "Oh I
forgot. He was suppose to come in with Yomi, ne?" asked Hiei.

"They were hand in hand," added Shizuru. Youko Kurama slipped
away, trying to hide between his swooning fans. Hiei turned around.
"Kurama! You come back here this instant," he gritted his teeth, going
after the tall youko.

Kuwabara laughed. "That shrimp is not as bad as he try to be. He’s
funny!" he said.

Suddenly the lights were out and there’s a spotlight shining on a
kissing couple in the middle of the room. Kurama and Hiei opened their
eyes. "Why is it dark?" asked Hiei. "Why is it that there’s a spotlight
on us?" asked Kurama.

"Any couple who’s stepping on the particular star shaped stone in
the middle of the room, would be the couple of the year and it looks
like we have a winner. And they’re kissing too! Give them a round of
applause!" said the announcer.

"Hiei, can you slice him off with your katana?" asked Kurama.
"Umm… no. I didn’t bring it along," he told Kurama. "I am going to turn
into a fox and run," he told Hiei. "Don’t even try to leave me here
alone," said Hiei.

"LIGHTS! Put it back on!!" shouted Kurama. The lights were on and
everyone cheered. Suddenly there’s someone who’s calling them. "Kurama,
Hiei!" it called. Both slowly turned their head around and…

 	‘SNAP’

"Thank you for taking the picture," said Yuusuke and took back the
camera from a youkai, giving him a gold coin. "Yuusuke, how could you?"
asked Youko Kurama. He pounced on Yuusuke and the camera went flying in
the air, caught by Kuwabara.

Yuusuke, flat on the floor was giggling. Kurama’s nose was
touching his and his silver hair were covering his eyes and all.

He laughed. Kurama got up and sighed. "Yuusuke, you’re crazy," he
snorted. "Well, you’re one hell of a crazy fox, Kurama!" laughed
Yuusuke. Kurama stomped to the drink centre. "Inari… why did I come
here?" he sighed.
